i dont think they could catch any torrents, just the sites that host them

you can see the ip address of everyone who's seeding or downloading a torrent that you're seeding or downloading, so i'd imagine catching people using them would be a piece of piss.
there's a company called mediadefender (i think) that spends all its time doing this for record & film studios.

damn i thought torrents were better than that
my friend was caught by comcast downloading borat, but only because the apartment complex shared bandwith and he was hogging it

also they charged her with only 24 mp3s to simply make the trial faster, she shared hundreds of them. but still it doesn't change the fact that I kind of disagree with so harsh punishments. However the thing is that the way music is made has to transform before we can transform the legal issues behind music.
