tho, i was thinkin about savin up some money for the pmc-007. exactly the same as the 05, but it's got the 07 linefaders (the linefader contour option - essential for the eurocut) and a mid-eq knob, something not present on the 05 or 07.

turntablism first. everything else, including love, is secondary

ive got to admit ive struggled to get the exact balance i want on a&h, but ive only used the big high end ones about 3 times, in quite high intensity club situations, so i wasnt about to spend too much time mincing around. i have always wondered why there'd be such an obvious design flaw on such a high end mixer. but it didnt seem to be a case of selecting the two channels then adjusting using the knob...is it as simple as that?

but i do think that the delay and reverb do pretty well on the pioneer, but maybe i just dont have an ear trained enough to hear the issue

Fucking great but kind of expensive... effects are great, echo, delay and reverb are great for dubstep.

Had mine about three years and it is pretty fucked up... buttons don't work, one of the channels knackered. Used it for loads of parties and I think it has drunk more than it's fair share of beer. Anyone know where to get them fixed?

Used it for one of our nights in Corsica Studios and loads of knobs got nicked off it. Youngsta was playing... I reckon he had away with them.

Defo reckomend one if you can afford it.

Pioneer also has the DJM 400 which has the same features and then some but only two channels if money is an object...

With you on this one, for playing on there is nothing better but you wouldn't want to maintain the thing though, sound engineers call them the Allen & Grief but their filters are the total dogs bollocks but I would really like an echo &/or reverb on the xone range - no reason you can't do those in an all analogue sound path.

If I take a couple of months off from buying records or get a bonus from work that isn't eaten by my credit card bill I'm going to pick up an Ecler Nuo 5.

I would buy a new mixer and a mic but I can't stop buying dubstep records.

haha, i hear ya selector.dub, same boat my friend. This genre is killing my overdraft.
Tell you what that 'pioneer djm707' is pure sex, never seen one of them before, av to check that out.
Basically i need a decent mixer, two/three channel with kill switches and basic effects to replace my numark DXM01-USB, what in an ideal world should i be looking at?....no more messin about this time still, i want a mixer for life

yer man... instead of a 'mini-crossfader', this function is on a rotary knob labeled cue / add mix, right above the headphone volume knob (which is exactly how it is on most dj mixers btw... stanton is kind of a freak in that regard).

haven't had any problems maintaining mine - obviously after a while faders wear out and dust collects around the knobs, but that's not anything doesn't happen on every other mixer as well. granted the a&h replacement parts are in direct correlation to its initial cost...

the reason why there are no fx on these mixers is that the philosophy was to produce the most high-quality, high-end dj mixers on the market. some cheap digital fx (a la pioneer) would pretty much negate that idea. and high-end reverb and delay components - or at least high-quality d/a converters needed for splicing in digital fx - would drive the price up substantially. expensive enuff as is yea? ;/

got a shitty 2 channel gemini one but in the process of buying a new 3+ channel mixer...possibly a Xone62 if i can see a cheap one on ebay or if not then maybe Numark 5000FX which looks pretty good for the price http://www.decks.co.uk/products/mixers/numark/n5000fx

highly recommended. fat eq pots are awesome with full kill and switches. balanced outs. fast fader. nice and compact, good price too

I wish i had an Ecler

I've got a Stanton SA-8 atm, should be really good but just don't feel right, all loose and rickety (eq's are really nice), the model up is lovely tho
