Not being funny but the people who said "bet you like Rusko" would not be impressed by those artists they are all from the jump-up/Rusko/wobble school of dubstep just because they are more unknown does not make them any better, in fact Rusko has higher production values and so would be held in higher regard.

Personally don't really enjoy that kind of dubstep but not because it's commercial, it's because when I got into dubstep it was because it was dark, moody and the tunes weren't just trying to be harder or faster you could have slow tunes that weren't hype that were the biggest tune in the genre - and the wobblefest that's going on really isn't in line with that vision - the odd tune is fine, but none of this hype for 2 hours shit.
Okay, I get what you're saying, but I don't really see the point. Are you implying that people who like the more "wobblefest" type of dubstep arent as big of fans as people who like the "darker, moodier" tunes? Perspective takes a big role in music communities. Not everyones gonna dig the same styles, but that doesnt make them any less of a fan..

I wanna know why you think or would say this when some of the more prolific and popular producers are out of Cali right now.

Antiserum, Babylon System, Roommate, OSC, DJG, Djunya, Jus Wan, Blackheart and a fuckload of other DOPE producers reside here.

I know it sounds cliche but 'to each their own.' I don't say shit to you because you like a different sound... I say shit to you because you're a fucking self-righteous tnuc about it like your musical preference is so much better than anyone elses.

I fully appreciate (and play) all different kinds of dubstep sounds. it sucks that other people can't appreciate the various sounds.. but hey... that's on you pigeonholing motherfuckers haha.

I'll be happy to skank out to some deep minimal subweight or some straight speaker ripping grinding basslines just the same.

if everyone just listened to the music they enjoy rather than bitch about what other people are into, there would be no beef. So what if mans are into rusko/stenchman etc. I don't know whats best for the genre but surely being popular means that they've done something right, no? Personally, i can't stand some of the music me mam listens to, but i dont go and bitch about it to m'dad and tell him to low her off.

EVERYONE NEEDS A ZOOT AND A SIT DOWN. LOW THE BEEF>

correcto, in regards to the music splitting, as long as it doesnt get to the dnb stage where u can only play a set of identical tunes i think its good.

When did I ever say you weren't as big of a fan? who gives a fuck how much of a fan you are? I would rather talk to some one who just heard ramadanman and said oi mate this is wikid can you show me some new stuff than someone who had been listening to jump-up for 5 years - it's not "how much of a fan" you are it's if you like the same music as me.

Seriously though who even mentioned being less of a fan? I don't care how much of a fan someone is, if they show me music I like - I'm gonna appreciate there musical tastes.

Also I'm against sub genres because some wobble tracks are good, infact headhunter, jack sparrow and coki are on my top list of artists - It's just when there is 3 hours of metallic, mid range, trying to be the hardest, mind numbing shit on that I get pissed off

Go listen to some of these then :

Antiserum
Eskmo
Jus Wan
Roommate
Ripple
Quest

etc.

And if you can't appreciate them then I don't think ur in the right scene mate
I wasn't referring to California-based producers so much, more what the nights are like (some of the worst I've come across: very few decent clubs, closed minded crowds etc). Anyway, of the producers you mention I only really rate Jus Wan, and his sound certainly isn't repped at nights in Cali.

Again, that's not really what I was talking about. Same comment re: those producers though.
