ps he also ruined the joker mix from sonar for me

I don't know who the fuck this cat is but I saw some video on him and all it was was 5 minutes of this dood jumping around with this poof of hair. I wasn't very impressed. Does he make tune? Or is he just another douchebag cashing in on dubstep? Probably, I haven't heard of until this week.

apparently he comes from a hip hop background, so that may be what he's used to.
I hear good things about his hip hop sets actually.

this is what i heard before i saw him. i went expecting some wonky hip hop (seeing as he was playing the set before fly lo) instead i heard 45 mins of shouting over old caspa/rusko tunes and the last 15 mins was some average wonk. his mixing was abysmal and i stand by that until proven wrong

Actually it seems as though this guy plays top10 beatport dubstep. DJ's are pretty lame these days with that shit.

GLK was one of the highlights at sonar for me, a great turntablist too from what i saw, and have seen online. there was a lot of dubstep at sonar this year, but it was quite refreshing to have somebody just scratch in the tunes on the drops, not hard to do but entertaining, it was like, drop after drop after drop.
it was fun throughout

he comes from the experimental hip hop/mid tempo/low end scene in LA (originally Sad Diego). His mixing & scratching are precise but depending on the set he's playing, especially when it's multi-genre, sometimes he wont mix. It's a trend I've been seeing more & more in mixed sets out here. you cant really mix Edip Akbaryam & Dostlar into a Ras G tune, but these cats don't let that stop them. The ADD generation doesnt care if a set's not seamless.
plus he's got great energy and knows how to hype up a crowd. i think his incorporation of dubstep in his experimental sets have turned a lot of the hip hop kids in LA to dubstep.
