No shit, those 280$ headphones don't seem like so bad an investment now

I have 2 boys though, he wouldn't be happy about that. Gotta get this sorted out before the man comes to take my house back. One thing is for sure I won't have to worry about credit cards for a long time because ain't no one going to give me one now.

My sympathies go out to everyone in this thread who is unemployed and facing difficulties. I am severely underemployed, but my wife has a decent job. She works for a non-profit that gives money to people who are facing eviction, to keep them afloat. She is seeing so many people at the moment in just these types of situation.

My advice to everyone in trouble is to spend some time looking for what help is available. TARP is supposed to be for more than banks and car companies. Find the agencies and NGOs in your district and see if you qualify for some help. Unemployment benefits have been expanded in a lot of places, so even if you were self employed/contract, or off the books, or illegal, or whatever, you may still get help. There is also special help available for paying rent/mortage.

Good luck guys

Let us know what you do for a living and I'll ask around - gotta stick together in these tough times - recommendations is sometimes the best way to find work.

I'll help if I can.

In the meantime - don't get down - easier said than done i know but remember that sometimes the greatest opportunities come from NOWHERE when you are in the pits and you least expect it.

Starting this week, I'm benched. My employer is having a hard time finding companies willing to hire IT professionals. So they want me to stay @ home and get payed anyway

No need to worry (yet) as I have a steady contract.

Shitty thing is they want me to study and get new certifications instead of making music  wonder why?

And good luck to the people in this thread who are having difficulty's!! :|
