i think the problems people are having with the repetitiveness has alot to do with juke being dance music. it's made for the club, to make you get open and dance like a maniac , not sit around in your house with headphones and listen . same reason alot of people don't like drum and bass

also, to each their own

whoever said it was, silly boy? Classic example of someone not reading a thread at all... Most of the music posted in this thread is 3-5 years old or more

What are you on about?

I feel some of it, not all.

One Blood Remix by DJ Rashad is the one juke track I love.

Only got into off the back of the juke-step/footcrab hype but I love it. The stuff out on Mu from Rashad/Roc/Nate is 8)

Only really heard about it in the last half year. Mainly through the Footcrab / Work Them line of things.

I'm still not 100% on all that I hear. Bits of the music make me pretty excited, but I'm not that into hip-hop toned things, so it can be a bit too much for me sometimes. But the drive and energy in the music is impossible to ignore!

I've listened to a few mixes (Headhunter, Mike Paradinas) and am interested to hear what it sounds like in a club! -q-

But I get the feeling it's not something I can especially enjoy on a track by track basis (apart from the One Blood remix and the most crossover ones), so it's not my most listened to kind of music right now...

Thanks to all the US heads who're pointing us in the right direction. :D:

Though I can dance a bit, I'm more into this on the 'chin-stroking' side of things...

Juke's been pretty much my main source of inspiration for the last few months and I've learned so much listening to these amazing artists. So many flavors from within the US and outside of it. It's really nice to hear how different producers have been exploring this terrain....I know...it's not new. In fact, I'm sure there are kids walking around who are in school and younger than the first juke track. But if you are discovering it, I dunno...kinda feels very much so like the first times I heard dubstep. I was hypnotized by this combination of elements I hadn't really heard before. It makes me happy.

That being said, shameless plug because we kinda ll have to, I make juke-hybrids and the like. Please check out my work if you have a moment.

More importantly, just stay open. Even if you only learn one thing from the juke artists, that means that it's a gain and not a loss.

Cheers :D
