i love dubplate culture, just a shame my exposure is limited to re-watchings or downloads of radio shows, so the vibe isn't quite the same, damn being born in australia

If you're never going to give people the ability to listen to your tunes (obviously in exchange for purchasing a release) then I feel that you just shouldn't fucking play them at all. It's because of this very reason that I refuse to listen to mixes, radio shows, anything like that. I hate hearing some of the most beautiful tunes go to waste.Blerim wrote:Don't want to sound like a dickhead but the least my guy could do is drop a line as to whether this is/could possibly/is never happening. Because if it's the latter at least we can give up hoping and forget we ever heard those riddims, whereas if it's a possibility then we'll know that this 10 page thread and all those years of listening to deadout quality youtube clips wasn't in vein.... Clue us in a bit don, you've been silent for too long.
I mean I really fucked up when I stumbled over Cluekid - Dolphin on youtube. I swear I'll just fucking die if that doesn't get a release.
This. I love everything about this country except our god damn music scene.BlueyTeamTom wrote:i love dubplate culture, just a shame my exposure is limited to re-watchings or downloads of radio shows, so the vibe isn't quite the same, damn being born in australia
you guys shoud lock into rinse and shit! I listen to youngsta, oneman, swamp81 show, getdarker tv, secret ninja sessions, etc live all the time. for example, yunx is on at 10am-12pm on tuesdays for us.Maccaveli wrote:This. i always watch the uploads of getdarker and do as much as i can to hear the other stuff, really appreciative of the effort some of the people in this scene go to, to get the genre heard!VicarOfDub wrote:you guys shoud lock into rinse and shit! That's not really the problem for me though, I can go without hearing radio mixes. Its more that in the UK they have the option of seeing ridiculous lineups like every other week (the Deep Medi xmas party lineup made me want to cry), whereas here we're lucky if we get one of the names on those lineups every 6 monthsVicarOfDub wrote:you guys shoud lock into rinse and shit! Midnight, Boiler Suit, Encona, Woman, Struck Dumb, Norwood.
Would be a lovely christmas present from uncle Loe.
fair enough man. youngsta said he's coming out this year (finally!) Mala and Goth-trad both hinted at coming back seperately. we might get lucky!Maccaveli wrote:That's not really the problem for me though, I can go without hearing radio mixes. So you're telling me Youngsta can play Midnight out on big systems regularly but there's something out of Loefah's control stopping it from being released?-boring wrote:u ppl realize that there are many reasons out of artists control why tunes dont see release correct?? faulty mixdowns / lost project files / lost .wav files etc etc etc
Sure, but with Loefah, especially these dubs, anyone would be willing to release this because they're so sought after. The reason Loe doesn't release a lot of these dubs is because he hates them. We're lucky we got to see Disco Rekah get a release. I also heard he's lost a lot of the files for these.-boring wrote:u ppl realize that there are many reasons out of artists control why tunes dont see release correct?? faulty mixdowns / lost project files / lost .wav files etc etc etc
yeah, i've always had a terrible feeling it's this... but i'd rather just think positively and ignore thatxlyr wrote:The reason Loe doesn't release a lot of these dubs is because he hates them.
Then the man obviously has terrible taste in musicxlyr wrote:The reason Loe doesn't release a lot of these dubs is because he hates them.

Also, kind of off topic here, but it seems weird to me that some of the people who love Midnight don't seem to rate 28g as one of the top Loefah bits. IMO it's probably the most stylistically similar track (even if Skream was involved, this sounds far more Loefah).loefah wrote:incnic wrote:was chatting to him at standard place and he said said he wishes people would just fucking shut up about boiler suit and all these 'lost dubs'
slightly out of context there!
absolutely. and his remix of I.hendramarshall wrote:i rate 28g as one of the top loefah bits
