Nah not against the ToS, just sneaky stuff. Book was a bit waste really but had some good bits. Mostly just writeups on programs that automate the process. A lot of it was stuff like scraping posts from other places and using automated process to make the content unique. You know when you read stuff that sounds like it was google translated into Chinese and then back into English?

But there was some useful stuff like an app that tags your blog articles on social bookmarking sites n junk. Also talking about the best place to put your ads and search engine optimization stuff. Nothing you couldn't find on the interwebs though. For instance problogger.net has some decent articles.

Ah cool, just wanted to make sure...

although i think automating it would take the soul out of what we have going here, most bloggers can tell if you're genuine or not, and they're definitely not going to support spammy robots...

search engine optimization is awesome to look in to tho... i can tell google loves my blog, i show up on the front page for most of the searches of artists/songs i feature, near the top if they're obscure enough.

This has cooled off for me again! I've still been doing the rounds, commenting like crazy, hits have fallen off, and clicks disappeared entirely. Sad, was getting hyped.

Noways brings up a good point, update your profile to include a link back, under "my links" add your blog.

Also, that underlines the importance of commenting people that you follow. Your name as it appears to the person you just commented on links back to your official blogger profile, which automatically has a link back to your blog. So after you follow someone, be sure to comment on a couple of their posts (as per the technique's guidelines) so there is no confusion for them on how to reach you.

focus on the active commenters now. find people who have commented recently and comment on a couple of their posts, repeat. expand your reading using the megablogs and comment on their recent commenters. commenters who comment on megablogs are more likely to comment on anything and everything. if that doesn't work, go off topic and post about something that everyone can relate to, not just music and music production.

Oh, yeah, I'm kind of in chicken with head cut off mode. I hade a very rigid system before. A definite list of blogs that I was actively following (and were actively following me). I've been running around so much, I haven't been able to do that, but when I get back in town I'll be all over it. I noticed I got a lot of followers and comments but then it fell off. So I'll be focusing on those blogs, and attempting to reexpand my active followers/commenters.

And yeah, music production as a topic doesn't have a lot of general appeal. I just like writing about it. But I feel confined by it, I'd love to talk about my favorite underwear and shit. Have been kicking this idea around for a while, but I think I need a general purpose blog as well.

ok sorted myself out, following everyone on the list (was following a lot of you already) and made comments and ting to most of you. will try to keep up making posts daily.

good ol mister GM liked my post today and gave it a +1 on google plus...

my search index jumped up and i got over 33% more search traffic. just letting you guys know that you should be quick to hit that button if you see a post from a ninja that you particularly like (don't spam though)

i did a write up of the genre "skweee" and after the +1 i got like 15 search hits from people googling some of the artists i featured within a few hours.

and i just want to say that Morrello/future frequencies, your blog is AWESOME. and thanks for the side bar love
