snypadub wrote:In deed, that is what I was arguing for that point. The post even said it was to open your eyes to agnosticism. You have even said there is room for your donut god. There is room for a God out there.
But you think the Bible is the literal word of God both old and new testaments? And in the 50% from your example there is room for many Gods but if there is 1 true God then depsite the infiniteness of the other 50% (which isn't infinite I guess but I'll hold to your example) then there isn't space for the Donut god or any other despite the area with which to work?

What does this actually mean? Not a dig... I'm just always confused by what people mean when they talk about someone's "energy".
Of course the atoms that make you up will be reused (and some of those will be high in energy... your meat and fat etc), but unless you're put through a nuclear reaction the actual 'energy' (E) within your matter is going to pretty much stay put.
Or is it some other sort of "energy"? Like a non-religous version of a soul?

haha, best thing about physics is that when you start GOIN IN, God isn't anymore farfetched then any other conclusion. put this quote by Robert Jastrow (agnostic astronomer/physicist, also the founding director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies), in the context of the second law of thermodynamics and the formulation of the universe..
For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been there for centuries.
Anywho God is something beyond my comprehension, I fully admit that. Definitely don't see it in a Christian sense though. I don't know, trying to explain God to human beings is like trying to explain color to a blind person.

Its easy to see why people believe in religions or at least did, no one understood the world so they made theyre own assumptions for creation, good and evil etc. Nowadays its just pointless, causes worldwide trouble and there isnt any need for it anymore.

care to expand on that point?
I don't follow
EDIT: wouldn't that be more one of the more obvious things to be aware of, you know, assuming he/she is there?
Pretty self explanatory but I can expand for effect....
Do you know 75% of all there is, has been or, ever will be knowable? Clearly not, nobody does.
Do you know 60%? Same answer entirely.
What about 30%? Again, nobody knows this much of everything.
How a bout a measly 1% Do you Know 1% of all the knowledge imaginable in our universe? Nope, not even close but...
Let's suppose you know 50% of all there is to know about the universe. That is infinitely generous of me, I know, but run with it.
There's still a 50% gap in knowledge! There's still 50% of everything (the universe) missing from the equation.
50% of the facts of the universe are not there. Surely, amongst those facts, there is a God.
lol wut? izzz u stooooopid blud

God lives in the clouds, he made the earth in seven days, noah rounded up two of each animal and put them on his ark, jesus walked on water, he came back to life then floated up to heaven. Now if you think evolution sounds far fetched compared to that then you are a fucking mug.

Hmm, no. There is doubt, so maybe there's a God. There's no surely unless you've proven it. Which you haven't. Maybe there's also a planet made of nothing but perfectly wrapped Mars Bars, a moon that smells like Liz Hurley's farts or a race of hyper intelligent vacuum cleaners...
"It's possible" isn't much of a reason to believe something!

Here's a lil something to open your minds to agnosticism:
Let's suppose you know half of everything there ever is to know. I know you don't know half of everything but, let's pretend you do. Surely it is reasonable to suggest that, somewhere in the other half resides God?
No, it's only reasonable to suggest that, somewhere in the other half resides what you don't know. You can posit about what might exist in the other half (e.g. God might exist), but until you completely know everything, you will never truly know what's in the bits that you don't know. For the most part, I would go so far as to say that you wouldn't know what you don't know.

Rumsfeld Known Unknowns speech actually seems pretty appropriate here to be honest. There is a vast amount of things in the universe that I don't know about. Some of these I know I don't know, for example I know that I don't know Russian or the names of every single American state. But there's so much more that I haven't even considered that I don't know about, even just on this planet, that it is likely that I will never know if there is a God or not.

Now if I were to correct this, it would look more like this:
God lives in another dimension known as Heaven, he made the earth in seven long periods of over a thousand years each, noah rounded up two of each animal and put them on a very large ship known as an ark, Jesus walked on water, He was murdered by Romans, conquered death and, within three days, walked out of bed and went back home to Heaven.
And if you think that miraculous things are far fetched in theism, you obviously don't get the concept of an ALL POWERFUL God.

I could go into a thousand details of what you say is absurd and wrong but i wont because people like you are always the same. Muslim, christian or jewish it doesnt matter, your views are so narrow minded and misguided you'll never accept reason. Waste your life with your pointless beliefs if you want to.
