outdropt wrote:Hey guys, wondering if you have seen this before. I'm using Ableton (obviously) but the issue usually happens in my massive patches, i haven't tried to replicate outside of that yet.
What will happen is if i'm playing through a song and stop the song after a midi note is triggered but before the midi note is finished playing, the note will continue to play (at least until i hit play and trigger another note in the patch) This only happens in my basses when I have my keyboard mapped to the patch.
I was thinking that maybe my midi keyboard is not sending a note end message. But I can play on the keyboard and it will glide to whatever note i select, when the key is released it will go back to the note that it was originally stuck on (until i hit THAT note)
Anyone see this before?
its just affecting playback in the dAW right? not the actual exported version. its just a daw thingm it did it in FL too. just double click stop in ableton or hit the panic button in massive

I've got a very simple question I've been wondering about. Is there a shortcut that brings the loop brace into view but without looping it.
I've been using CONTROL+L and its helpful ... but i don't always need it to turn the loop on.
and yeah..its very simple just to turn the loop off after...but i'd rather not have to if the option is available.
thanks.

I've been using Ableton Live for a simple DJ-esque set up with an APC40, and up until recently I've been just using 4 audio strips, one sent to A and one sent to B, then 2 other ones for hold extra tracks, but recently I purchased a soundcard so I could preview tracks before playing them, but I have no idea on how to go about setting this up to work in tangent with my APC40 etc. etc. etc.
would anyone know how to do this?

you need at least 4 outputs, unless you want to DJ * cue in dual mono then watch this

cklick on the desired audio clip, make the audiocuve visible on the under bar, you should find a knob on the lefthandside saying pitch.
cheers.

ey yo u kno.
Just go inside the sample and change the "transpose" knob. It can hardly get more simple than that.

Sorry, whats the "audiocuve"? Wheres the 'underbar'? Is this in live 9 only? can see the repitch option in warping but dunno what else you might mean?

so who's got live 9? i just downloaded in on tuesday, and is it just me or are there WAY less instruments than in live 8? am i missing something?
i have live, not suite. literally there were like 5 different categories of "guitar and plucked" (i think it was synthetic, acoustic, electric, lead, and world and ethnic). now, there are like 10 in total. Bullshit! Am I missing something? please help!

I haven't really noticed any less instruments but I never really used the stock ones too much. I guess it depends on which version of live 8 you had and which version of live 9 because some come with more stock sounds. You may be able to download more off the ableton site just look at "my account."

Umm dunno which version you're using, wiseass but that particular knob changes the sample length and playback speed unlike requested. But i got it now so it's cool. i made it an envelope and now it works

It does not change the length or speed if warp is turned on. Else it would be kinda lame to even have such a knob.

Just wondering if anyone knows a way of randomising velocity on hihats in a midi clip thats quicker than painstakingly editing or copy-pasting each one?
