The most obvious solution to me would be to layer it, as I feel like distortion is gonna turn it into a mess rather quickly. No easier solutions that pop up in my head atm
Is this FM8? any specifics? Dude, your must die octopus growl was spot on, what happened with it?
I used it in the track in my sig. It got a bit boring though and wasn't very exciting, it's not the kind of timbre i'm looking for.

Some massive growl by Excision. Back to his old stuff i see
Got to admite this is a growl.
Any thoughts? Sounds Like its saying Bacon ahhah. Plus the lead in this song is so crazy also! Anyone know where that bounce sample is from? Ive herd it a lot recently.

TBH that growl is rather boring, I'm more interested in the horn/screechy thing that happens later in the drop.

Tbh I love excision and I'm lost for words on how to make his growls. Not sure where to start, not sound look swindling swag cigarette but I really like the old excision and datsik growls. I know they resampled but I can never get close. Not sure if it's my patch or some other stuff.....
Haven't seen anyone get close ether.
That other thing you said too was sick!
I'll go back to what I said before about all of us picking an artist or growl and try our best to recreate or synthesize there sound.

Don't get me wrong the growl is nice, it just sounds generic m-talk ish.
The song itself is nice though.

I guess it has that modern talking feel to it but that's maybe the point? I highly doubt they used M-talk for there signature growls.
M-talk isn't bad if you know what to do with it. Not just slap an Lfo on the wavetable to talk lol.
Kill the noise used it for his talk to me bass. Said it was modern talking in massive and some guitar pedal stuff.
The sound saying talk to me is a psychological effect. Since it was repeated just before the drop, making our brains imply what's it's saying.
Pretty fucking smart if you ask me. Why go to the trouble of whatever when you can mind bang people's heads to think your bass is talking

To me it just sounds like he played some distorted M-TALK growl with random modulation over someone saying "talk to me."
Which would make sense, I could see how it would trick untrained ears in to hearing "talk to me" when the growl is played alone.
Also, I am in no way bashing M-Talk, it sounds cool really. I think Getter's growls sound a lot like M-Talk as well.

M-talk gets a bad rep for it's terrible sound just in massive. Which most noobs use and don't use rm or phaser mod or any other massive effects for there sound design. But if you process it, you can get a nice growl going, that sounds nothing like it's terrible stand alone wave table sound.
My thought though, don't see how it a sin to even mention the word...

My thoughts are the same about M-Talk that it sounds cool with some work. I tried it with another WT and I think it sounds cool. I've just got back to using Massive. I was more focused on sytrus before and I've just got into EQ automations so don't know if it has worked.
Won't mind sharing the details if anyone interested.
A chorus comes in the second time it plays.
Followed a tutorial a bit today, ended up with a really weird, i guess resonant sound in the high end, spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to get rid of it and how to get a decent rhythm.

Wow that's pretty squelchy sound like one of KTN growls. Any info on it? Probably the usual stuff going on in massive but whatever.

Ha ha yes the same usual routine
Ok here goes
Two OSCs, one filter and one LFO
1. Osc 1> M-talk, 1 oct down, bend -/+. Wt position at 10:30 o'clock lfo going up so that the green part ends at 2 o'clockat grey ends just before all the way right.
Intensity 12 o'clock lfo going up so that green part is at about 1:30.
2. Osc 2> A.I, 1 oct down, bend -/+. Wt position just a little below 12 o'clock. Lfo going up, green part ends at between 1 and 2 o'clock. Intensity between 1 and 2 o'clock. Lfo's green at 12 o'clock.
3. modulation osc 1 oct down. Just position the third one on osc 2 at 12 o'clock.
4. Filter> band reject. Cutoff between 1 and 2 o'clock. Lfo's green just 2 points towards right. Bandwidth between 1 and 2 o'clock. Lfo's green at one point below 12 o'clock. Reso 10 o'clock.
Both F2 and mix right at the centre.
5. LFO> xFade Curve right at top. Curve select Fall 5. Internal envelope's attack and decay at centre make a triangle.
6. FX> C tube, D expander, eq, and sine shaper to taste.
Some more distortion afterwards and eq automation saying ee-oo a ah plus compression.

any clue on the growl in the first part of the drop? I can get a similar vowel with digigrain II through a double notch, but /i can get that real nice smooth and thick liquid/metallics texture that the one in scary bolly dub has, mine has all this scratchy high end fuckery.
