BTW - get yourself a recording device and record every mix practice you have. Seriously. It'll be a good learning tool when you listen back to them (tapes are wicked and cheap for this kind of thing), plus in a few years time listening back to your mixes will be jokes when you hear how far you've come.
I was wondering... how would you go about setting this up? What kind of tape recorder would you need in order to do this?
Also I've been thinking about a way to record stuff from my DAW onto tape and back into the computer for that nice tape sound (I'm listening to alot of Mattron and Rajas stuff atm. and they obviously do this). But I have absolutely no knowloedge on tape what so ever.
Also I am happy because its studio day today! Got a rapper, a guitarist and two skilled pianoplayers comming in.

Liam Howlett has confirmed this album will not be Dubstep
Im actually glad its not, I love The Prodigy for their own, unique style, dont want to hear that change.

Cant agree, I loved them before IMD came out, and its now my fav album of all times.
They managed to create something new and fresh, and still be themselves.

IMD is by FAR their worst album.
If anyone can be labled as 'sell outs' it's them

Although they changed their style for that album i wouldnt say they sold out. Surely selling out is when you change your sound to fit what is big at the time, i cant honestly say i have heard another album with a similar style to that one

Prodigy aint released anything decent since FOTL, experience is still their best imo, still got bare love for prodigy though, big part of my childhood

FOTL WAS the sell out album

Well, the declaration that the new album wont be dubstep is a sign they're not selling out. Still, not gonna be biased and I'll say it DOES sound like something said only to calm the doubtful fans.

THIS.
Though FOTL was the most 'disappointing' for me. Bought it on release day without listening to any of it, expecting something groundbreaking and on a par with Break & Enter, Poison, Voodoo People, Their Law, No Good (Start The Dance) or, well, ANYTHING off MFJG... but no... Smack My Bitch Up and fucking FIRESTARTER.
stnuc.
Sell out stnuc.

Same. And I mean, even if they have sold out, how does that change the quality of the music they're making?

You too, bro. Glad someone can see where i'm coming from.
In truth, I really liked FOTL when it came out and was really pleased when it did so well. The group i'd been reppin for years (since before I was a teenager) was doing big things and a little bit of that reflected on me coz i'd been talking them up to anyone who'd listen.
In hindsight it was absolutely their 'sell out' album. My brother-in-law kind of knew them back in the old, old rave days and they had an ethos back then. That went out of the window when enough £s were waved in front of them.
Trying to find a image of the MFTJG inlay card but they're all to big to post.
This'll have to do -
(a happy coincidence. that's the image I wanted)

When FOTL was released I was about 8 years old so had no idea of the concept of selling out, listening back to it there was a definite change in style after the first 2 albums though my 8 year old mind wouldn't have equated that with selling out... Also some of the remixes of the experience era stuff are fucking brilliant, they did some really dark and breaky remix of out of space I think it was, fucking heavy, still have a load of those remixes on CD somewhere in my house
