Not feeling station seven. Too high pitched.

that downlink / excision tune '2005' was pretty weighty.

Ditto for Mendez, who's releases his shizzle on Sluggo's Ultragore Records imprint and will also perform at the afterparty.
stopped reading there... grammatical errors and the word "shizzle"
I would never read anything from this publication/blog again

I think this thread is healthy, gives a place for the members of the forum to stroke their puritanical ego as well as build their well needed 'true' Dubstep street-cred!'

'Ay yo, dis brostep crap, ain't got no SOUL....IT AINT GOT NO SOUL!!111' etc
Joking aside, a sub-forum wouldn't work. The reality is that this forum doesn't represent a lot of the music out there which many consider to be Dubstep anymore. You wouldn't get many people listening to what most here call 'brostep' joining this forum, and the ones that do will most likely get a rough ride from the 'Tru Dubstep street-cred crew'. Thus a sub-forum would turn into a hate-fest with only existing members posting, like this thread.
Best to keep the forum in it's own bubble

if you look around you will find more diversity in the sounds represented on this board then you might imagine. one could argue that the people in love with the same drum sample over some oscillations ad infinity are trapped in a bubble of stagnation. that stagnation is a problem in a lot of music, you'll see just as many people bored of the "dungeon" sound as you will see people complaining about "brostep" if you take the time to look
what is true dubstep and who get's to decide? you're taking a tiny part of this forum and magnifying it beyond reason
imo

Nevalo - I have been here long enough to see if a new member posts a
genuine question about Flux, Datsik, Knife party etc he most likely won't get a genuine response back, instead ridicule of himself or the artist he likes. We all like a laugh, but mocking of the same artists (that many like) over and over has been done to death now.
This thread being an example:
http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=233327
Fractal - Perhaps there are, but the constant criticism of what people here consider to be the 'brostep' batch of artists sticks out sore thumb (the size of this thread says it all!). My posts only refer to that, otherwise I have been visiting here on and off for a few years and learnt a great deal about the genre through it. But getting to a point where a discussion on certain artists almost becomes a taboo because they dare to change things up a bit doesn't really seem to be the right direction.

youve missed the point... again
add a subforum where people can talk freely about bro & you wouldnt have anywhere near as much flamming
why? because people WHO DONT LIKE THE MUSIC wouldnt even venture into that forum.... just like people who dont like hiphop dont venture into the hiphop forum? is that simple enough for you to understand?

Haha, think you have also overdone the facepalm pic now
If done with the right intentions, promoted and moderated properly, perhaps it could work. If you expect a sub-forum titled 'Brostep' - basically a trash can for music which people think is Dubstep but actually isn't...then don't expect new joiners rushing in their masses. Most listeners, promoters, venues and artists do not use the term Brostep, so you're not appealing to anyone with that. No Flux/Dr P/Knife party fan is going refer to their taste as Brostep, it is a derogatory term.

Well... anyone would soon work out that Modestep tracks would be posted into the Commercial section. because well... if they posted it into the other section they would be eaten alive.
