another great week of tuna:

@yilan: great ambience piece, i really like the faint choir-ish sound, actually i feel it could be louder/more in the forefront. could be my headphones tho. same for the reece-y lower end, not sure if it should be louder or if its my headphones not properly rendering the low frequencies.

@Bud: the kuedo vibes on your main synth <3. i feel the way the vocals drop is a bit too sudden, i'd suggest working on the structure a bit for that part, like maybe muting some elements for the last 4 bars before the vocals come in. also the mixdown sounds a bit muddy at times, at least on my headphones. is that a sample of cat purring during your breakdown around 5:00? liking the bells synth in the last section, i feel like you could bring it in earlier, like maybe a least hint to it in the 2nd section? imho bbq

@Shallo:great work on the percussions. not sure about the bleepy melody, but this is personal taste really. the squelchy bassline synth is a nice touch. however i feel it sometimes sounds a bit sloppy, sort of, which detracts from how tight your drums are imo. like i feel you should try and adjust the attack parameter on that synth or maybe try to tighten your midi file. not sure i'm expressing what i mean clearly...

@cyclopian: great intro again :D the glitchy percussions are sick too.vsorry not really helpful feedback. i feel you got all the elements, and everything's in the right place. now you just need to finish it.

yeah lol was my little kitty the one i gave this wierd eye lol
and yeah def agree with the feedback :4:

ok feedback

@yilan
nice start right away
sounds like from a scifi movie old scifi movie ♥
really like how it builds up slowly
yeah not much to suggest, sounds how it should maybe give the bottom tiny bit more power?
(this reece bass thingy )
besides that sounds real good nice dif vibe to your techno stuff :i:

@defaultuzr
yeah some 2 step beats again :3
real nice you reckon i could try a remix (btw you still have those blanc remix ideas?)
yeah really like it would love to try sth maybe add some vocals :corndance:
its nice too that its kinda the same vibe as your instrumentals could work together on one ep or album
yeah sounds fairly good so far :U:

@shallo
shallo is mason right? atleast sounds like mason haha
yeah melody grooves nice maybe you drop it too soon? yeah maybe bring the melody later so you have something the listener doesnt know cause i think the drums and stuff are enough in the beginning
and maybe just that hint right before the drop at 0.53 so you go like ok there will come a nice melody
haha i have to disagree with defaultuzr i like the sloopyness haha
but yeah def bring the melody later i think it might have more impact that way
you might try around with ocatves on your upper bassline like might sound nice one or two octave lower at parts
and i could see reverse arpeggios at the end for some reason melody going downwards
but you got all set just maybe try around bit with what you have

@cyclopian
yeah haha like those percs
def sounds artificial maybe you could go autechre way with those super fast hi hats and glitches
maybe i could see a comb filter in action here. you might try to add some distortion on top of the low bass and give it some wierd effect chain but the groove is super nice towards the end. maybe give the drums tiny bit more highend?
very promising so far :i:

ja, been meaning to go back to the ones that were pretty much finished and submit them as a tuna ep, 5 tunes, Budprolific style... one day

no problem for the stems, i'll try to find some time to sort you out this week or the next
or i'll trade them to you for that cat purring sample :6:
(seriously tho, i've been looking for a cat purring sample for reals)

actually, iirc, you're doing lots of field recording Bud yeah? sorry if i already asked and forgot but what are you using to record?

yeah not as much anymore might start again for me the actual sorting is such a pain in the ass the recording is really fun but naming it and all this shit haha
its like making music vs mixing what you made

sure i send you the raw cat purring i throw some sounds in you might like :i: not the best environment though you might get some pc sounds oftrn i just record when i get bored and might use it or not

Hey guys, this is Bud's friend mentioned above. I guess he dug some ideas of mine and encouraged me to get involved in the forum, so consider this my formal greeting :Q:

I used to make all types of electronic dance music, then started getting a big more progressive with some indie synth/pop stuff, and that's where I'm at now. Those are the only important bits about me worth mentioning for now. Looking forward to browsing through some tracks.

Lurked the last few pages a bit and had to say I'm pleasantly surprised at some of the talent hiding in here. That "Shallo - Tonight" track is awesome. Nice city-night vibes there and a sweet shuffle going on in the percussion.

I'll do one, I think. Stopped work on my studio past three days, daughter has been sick. But have been fiddling late night on the lappy with a further deteriorated headphone output. Might get some lazy jam-techno out of me.

I can host it up.

So tracks to NWJ.

Hey guys,

I haven't been very active on the forum for months, I took a break from producing and electronic music in general to be honest.

But recently I've found myself wanting to get back into it and start getting tunes finished and out there, I'm thinking this would be a good place to get some feedback and give me incentive to start and finish a tune by the end of the week. I've heard some fantastic stuff in here and would like to contribute so yeah, I'll try and get one in by Saturday!

Who do I post my tune to when it's finished?

Thanks guys! :Y:
