Whats up everyone. I saw this forum probably a year ago, but I just decided to join it now. I got Ableton over the summer and have been screwing around on and off, with almost no idea what I am doing. I really really want to improve and I hope that this forum can help me out.

Where is the best place to start?

Thought I'd join this forum, and start getting involved in the Dubstep community. I'm a newcomer from Cincinnati, remember listening to Dubstep back in my early years of college thinking it was some of the coolest music I'd ever heard. I've been playing the drums since I was 8, so naturally I gravitate towards rhythm and interesting sounds. I enjoy virtually every flavor of music the world has to offer, but I find myself wanting to create Dubstep. I hope I can bring new ideas and perspectives with my sound.

Hello dubstep gang. I've been involved in electronic music scene for quite a while now but I'm definitely new to dubstep. As a producer I find that dubstep has really changed the scene. So yeah, gonna check the forum out and participate in discussions and we'll go from there, shall we?

Hello all, been exploring the forum for a few weeks before posting. I am a relative newcomer to dubstep after being involved in D&B production for a number years. What can i say - im hooked, just getting myself stuck into some dubstep productions so will no doubt share in the relevant forum sections in due course.

Found this forum by luck I guess. From the first time I got a taste of dirty bass back when I lived in Denver,
I've been a true track junkie! I now reside in Houston and am on the search for my way into the scene! I would love
a bit of guidance if anyone one could be so kind! Where the spots at? I'm dying to get more familiar with any producers
other than the big names like Rusko, Caspa, Bassnectar, Ya Knohhh?

Producer from South Africa that was rejected by the metal and alternative scene cos of the bullshit politics
and a lot of controlling people in the scene.
I decided to take my life on a different track.
Being a Transformers and SciFi fanatic i decided to get into some experimental music.
Finding my footsteps in dubstep mixed with a bit of filth and other influences, this is me coming out my box.

Loving the music environment and exploiting my mind to it. I've fallen for the dubstep genre hard
and all i want to do is produce this genre and become my best and more at it.

Whats up guys? I am a big dubstep fan and i have always wanted to make dubstep music. The only musical past i have though is freestyling, so i will have to work hard to become good at making this kind of music. I will hopefully learn a lot from this forum and will be able to make some good shizz with Reason 5 (my music software of choice). Need to learn how to use Reason properly too, but hey im here for a reason ahah. Here is my soundcloud, which is devoid of dubstep as of now but i will strive to fill that shit up

My name's Jeroen, artist name's PHASE1:)
I'm 23, and currently i live in Hilversum, The Netherlands.
Grew up in the northern part of the Netherlands, where i went to a soundacademy/school in sound & studiotechnology for several years.
During this time i worked as a soundguy and toured with several bands, did livesound for a venue for 3 years straight, and worked in several recording studio's where i mostly recorder metal and rockbands for about 3 years.
Then my interest in music production was awakenend, i started producing/composing some lighter material, some time passed before i started to really get into Drum&Bass and Dubstep came later on.
My first attempts at these styles were about 1,5 year ago, and i have grown ever since if i have the right to say so myself.

Hello, I produce under the name Acidhedz.

I guess I got into Dubstep after a friend of mine suggested I check it out a few weeks ago. After I checked it out I decided I did want to to work with the style because it presents that nice combination of being very popular right now, and very interesting in and of it's self.

I am mainly an experimental artist. Rather manic in my production style and speed. I tend to just toss things around till I end up with something I like, with very little planning usually. I also tend to not polish my tracks very much, for two reasons, one I am not a detail oriented person, and second I like being able to come up with a whole album in a day when the mood hits me.

Unfortunately the spit and polish is usually what turns an okay track into a real hot track. So more and more recently I have been thinking I need to find a partner to work with. I also don't do melody all that well, so someone that does fine tuning and melody would be ideal.

I have also been working to get the money together to get what I need to start working live. I use acid music studio, which I have, and still do, get results with, but I am starting to really see how limiting it is when it comes to arrangement and dynamics. So I want to move onto Abelton live, and for doing live shows I at least want a new laptop and a controller. Not cheap.

So I guess I'm at a cross roads in my evolution and don't have the money to move forward. Which sucks. A realization that came when I started trying to produce a dynamic style like dubstep in a program that does not do dynamic very well at all. On the other hand I like dubstep and am finding it fun to work with, so there is always a trade off. I suppose I needed something to give me that kick to move on anyway, it's the not being able to get the gear to do that sucks.

Hey all, finally registered here after reading about this forum on the internet... several times. Ive been a fan of dnb since gta3 came out. Between the game's release and 2004 Ive progressed listening through classic 90's dance/trance stuff(most of the popular ones) then became jaded.

I stumbled upon Bassdrive and progressed through the subgenres in drum and bass as the genre evolved. I got into liquid more heavily just as it became big? in 2006-2007(Ive read it was a good year). Out of nowhere during late 2007, a friend told me about this new thing called dubstep; track was halogen. I was hooked by dubstep's bassline no liquid track could provide.

I started off listening to dubstep like unite/saxon/halogen/etc so, Midrange cack didnt hit me as hard when rusko and borgore were at it but, the prince of dubstep took a while for me to get use to. no brolove.

aye imma noob haha i just recently discovered dubstep and i fell in love with it i listen to it all day ive started making my own and i would just like to get out in the community lol get sum pointers and possible co-labs so in the future

hello been lurking this joint without registering for a while

im from melbourne where 99% of dubstep is skrillex. wasn't into dubstep originally, more of a detroit techno/deephouse/electro guy so yeah i love theo parrish/omar s/UR all that shit. it wasn't until i heard midnight request line that i was hooked.

im in my last year of high school, actually finishing in a month. after that i'm looking to produce for shits and giggles.
