Ah ok, cool/ Nice one for that. I just wondered whether that not being a big part of culture made going to a dubstep night (or any dance music night for that matter) a bit more of a novelty.

Coz I personally have found dubstep scene a breath of fresh air - that being, not a 'meat market', and people going for the music and not the girls! But...thinking about it...If people from this Skrillex night were to go to Fabric (for instance), they wouldn't see much difference (apart from maybe the soundsystem).

That was me trying to tie my question into the op! haha

I think aggressive dubstep in America is more of a rave thing still. As far as our mainstream club scene, it sounds pretty much like that Liquid club mentioned earlier.

Mostly shitty laptop DJs playing shitty pop rap/electro mashups. And kids spending all their parents money who couldn't give two shits about the music.

i also just want to point out that there is plenty of CRAP dubstep and CRAP dubstep DJ's in the UK, you just don't see us blanket-stereotyping your entire country for it

i dont see any point where that has happened here except that one tool

theres loads of great dubstep from all over and shit as well

i think this whole thread has been lots of people saying that skrillex thing looks fucking awful and then pkay and parson saying its awesome and that if people dont like the look of it theres something wrong with them

and then you turn up as usual and get offended and take it personally as a slight on your flawless country lol

i locked it as it was utterly pointless but apparently as i said id had enough before locking it i was getting the last word so ive unlocked it so the pointless tired debate can continue

the best part of this thread was hearing parsons ramadanman rmx...i have family in washington and have been there a few times...i have no issue with individuals but would say i massively dislike elements of american culture in different ways to the manner in which i dislike our culture

end of the day were all just people...tacospheros you really do seem too sensitive on this subject....this forum doesnt have it in for all americans and america

pkay i think youve just got the wrong end of the stick with regards to what people were saying....all people said was the skrillex thing looks shit and isnt what dubstep is/was all about over here...they at no point said all events in the u.s are like that one...i personally would not have a good time there at all and you seem to think that makes me the person with the problem when i would have a good time in many other places

and girls come with wide ranging personalities and not all are drawn in by the same sounds...girls come to my night and some get it and some dont

i think many people in the hideout just like playing devils advocate tbh

peace my uk and us bros

What do you mean. The only people I seem to meet who are into brostep are people who go to raves. I guess it's gaining popularity but its like giant fake retarted rave things like that Skrillex video. A lot of people around here hate dubstep cuz all they know is brostep and they think its terrible. For like the past year people get the wrong impression when I say I listen to Dubstep.

I'd still say stupid pop rap and "Indie" rock dominates the mainstream over here. At least in my area.

edit: ah just saw you highlighted "still". I meant that in the fact that a year or 2 ago I didn't know anyone who even knew what Dubstep was, but its gaining popularity extremely fast, so I think it'll shift more towards the club scene.
