I remember that show and I'm sure you've misquoted DVA.. I remember him trying to explain Burial to people who didn't know who he was and said he doesn't need to DJ unlike 99% of other producers in the scene, thats how big he is. I'm positive he said 'he doesn't need to DJ', not 'why doesn't he DJ?'.

Yeah, you have kind of taken it out of context. He was joking about being jealous of Burial for being able to just make tunes quietly and not needing or wanting to dj.

fair play my bad, i didn't listen to the whole show only the cut of ashtray wasp on youtube hence out of context, and it was a very long time ago. Makes sense now, when i first listened that's what i heard, sounded like he really didn't have a clue but that makes more sense
