They need more of a mean streak to be believable as tag champions... neither of them are JBL-material and Earthquake and Typhoon never had to resort to doing the Dougie. Being scary-huge was enough.

They need to start "sendin' folk to the hospital".

This.

That's how Warrior did it... it's the only way to build a proper monster Face. Ryback's fucked now... he should fade back into the midcard and fuck off for a bit. To be fair, it was a wrap when he botched all over the shop against Tensai - there's no way he's gonna get trusted with the top talent too regularly just yet... let The Shield take those bumps.

I think anyone but Hell No holding the tag straps right now will be a boost to the division.. those 2 guys are too high profile to get the division over in its current state, and I don't think they have brought any added value to the belts. But, the answer isn't Ziggler/Big E either. Give them to the PTP's or Rhodes Scholars for now and go from there, I reckon

Division could really benefit from a cruiserweight tag team...someone like Paul London/Brian Kendrick from a few years back.

Yep NXT is normally good (unlike the other 10 odd programs WWE has). Regal is the don, should put on a good show.

davwuh wrote:And how about that Bully Ray on the other side. Aces and Eights 4 lyfe?
Bully vs hardy next week on Impact, could be better than all of the WrestleMania matchs.

Yeah, Bully/Hardy should be an amazing match. I still think the grandiose spectacles of Lesnar/HHH and Cena/Rock will eclipse it though.

Well...that was largely shit.

Shield vs. Superfriends was a decent match if a little predictable, Fandango/Jericho was a classic, as was Taker/Punk (potential 5* IMO).

Everything else on the card was dogshit. Del Rio got booed after defeating Swagger as everyone was expecting Ziggler to come out, the Hell No tag match was just weird (like they'd been told to give Langston limited ring time?), Rock/Cena was an embarrassing spectacle of finishing move finishing move finishing move for about 15mins, and Lesnar/Triple H was a good match but the crowd was so spent after Taker/Punk that it seemed like nobody was getting behind it.

And then, there's Ryback/Henry. Not even sure what the point of it was, it's like they want Ryback to go back to NXT or something :?

Finally

And they managed to further devalue the IC belt by having Miz hold it for ~24hrs before Barrett won it back. Ryback turned heel (if attacking Cena is seen as a bad thing these days?), and Cena himself got booed to FUCK for pretty much the whole show

I knew I should've waited until after Raw to come in here...

Fair to middling.

IC Championship match was decent, but they do have to stop flipflopping titles like that, especially the IC.

6 man tag was better than it could've been. No heel turn for Randy and Big Show just doing the customary tweener flounce was a disappointment.

Jericho/Fandango was very good indeed... Fandango climbed several rungs of the ladder, from jobber to mid-carder in one match.

Tag Titles match was.... odd... what's the point in a clean Hell No victory this far into their tag reign? Bryan and Ziggy starting off with the AJ-distraction/Big Kick was a nice touch. Langston had those Zeus eyes when he first got tagged in. Langston should be in the IC hunt.

Del Rio is the least champion-like champion ever. I wonder how long they'd had that storyline in mind, given the Liberty styling of the arena... it fell pretty flat.

Taker/Punk was superb given the apparent condition of both wrestlers. Taker's power-out/no-sell of the Anaconda Vice was pretty fucking awesome.. even if Michael Cole was WAY TOO READY FOR IT. They should've done a spot where Heyman raised the Urn to take the piss out of a knocked-out 'Taker only for 'Taker to sit-up and scare the shit out of both of them.

I fell asleep during Rock/Cena so I haven't seen the end, but I heard Cena's music play. Couldn't give a fuck tbh... well... unless he did the turn, which I'm guessing he didn't. Might rewatch it tonight.

I take it the Tons of Funk was a dark match or did I manage to fast forward it and not notice?

Tons Of Funk got bumped to RAW last night.

And Fandango had a match on RAW, but Jericho came out and buried him before the first bell had rung.

Reckon it'd do Mr Brooks good to take a few months off...have him return at Summerslam or something.

Ooooo...or he makes a return at MITB and wins a contract...

He might have a good excuse to after that table didn't break.

Punk and Orton should get involved with something heelish together... give them long enough to build for a WM30 title match.

Also, Wrestlemania should start with America The Beautiful. I'm not even a fan of American patriotism, it's just a fucking AWESOME song.

Taker/Punk was 4 stars for me,, great match, but 5 is really pushing it too much.. that's saying it's on the same level as Austin/Rock @ 17, Austin/Bret at 13 etc. No way did it come close to those. I could name quite a few Taker matches at WM that I thought eclipsed it.. Taker/HHH @ both 17 and 28, both the Taker/HBK matches and maybe both Taker/Edge @ 24 and Taker/Batista at 23 (iirc)

It was a great match, match of the night for sure, but that's not saying much. Overall a really shitty WrestleMania.. Rock/Cena was alright, Lesnar/HHH decent too.. both those matches suffered from a weak crowd though, and Brock was working with a concussion from the first minute or so. Rest of the card was entirely forgettable and not even worth mentioning.

Raw was awesome, just for the stupid drunken crowd entertaining throughout. But if you took the crowd out the equation, the Raw itself was actually pretty shit, aside from the Ziggler cash-in and Ryback attack on Cena. But it was fun just to hear them chanting shit like "Michael Cole" and shitting all over the Sheamus/Orton match, even though I reckon both those guys are two of the top guys in the company.

Someone who's job is to lose in order to make the top talent look better, like the Brooklyn Brawler... or Brock Lesnar.

How was Fandango a jobber if WM was his 'debut'?

(Obviously as Fandango, not counting Curtis' earlier work)
