Or rather, tit over arse..

for the record, I'm not a homphobe.

LOL THIS.
People go on like "yeye the media is givin us complexes ennit, wanting us to be skinny all the time". Look around and honestly tell me the country as a group is being pressured into being skinny.

Yeah it's just the fashion industry. Men definitely don't pressure women to be sticks.

yeah men don't, but the media and shit does. look at pretty much every commercial for a "beauty" product. look at all the girls in the magazines. They are all twigs. that's why we've seen such a huge spike in eating disorders recently. Most girls I know think they have to be skinny in order for guys to like them. They are so deluded. Don't know about you lot but I prefer curves over twigs.
this is the whole point of the dove beauty campaign.
Also genevieve you're right about the pics of christina hendricks' ass. didn't see the one you posted until after I made my post.

Hardly any women in magazines are as skinny as the extreme example you posted there.

There might be a "huge spike" in eating disorders (don't know the stats, would be cool to see), but when
60% of adults and 30% of kids are overweight or obese, can the "twigs" really be having that much of an effect?
Also, it's pretty cool to be offensive to people that are slim in the media too, whereas, let's say, larger women, get away with the "curves" card.

Also, attractiveness is subjective man. All this shit like "men prefer xyz" whatever racks me off. Some men like massive redheaded julies, some like tall, statuesque blondes, some like willowy brunettes, some like girls that are 5 foot. No time for the media's knack of taking sides when it comes to beauty.

real men like curves, only dogs chase bones
This has been doing the rounds recently and bugs me with its passive aggressiveness.
Aka "If you don't find me attractive because I'm overweight/fat then it's your opinion that needs to change not my lifestyle"
I'm all for curves, but if you're using the above as an excuse as to why your belly is bigger than your tits then you may want to take a step back and reassess IMO.

this is the whole point of the dove beauty campaign.

I see just as many 'anorexia' scandals as I see 'fat' scandals. Magazines love some good gossip.
And the opposite of 'curvy' isn't 'skinny', that's a myth fat girls perpetuate so they can feel they look like Marilyn Monroe (who was more like a size 8, not a 14). The opposite of 'curvy' is 'straight'. Thin girls with little fat on their bodies can be curvy and fat girls can be straight and shapeless.
Almost every man in the universe prefers curves over a shapeless girl. 'The guy that likes curves' isn't like the 'rare connoisseur' who lays it down. He's a man with average heterosexual programming and instincts. And almost every dude likes a thin girl over a fat one.
Most girls in magazines aren't 'twigs' or skinny. They're just thin and in shape.
And that Dove campaign is a good shout, because those girls are hardly curvy, they're sturdy. Broad waists and chests. No pear shapes or hourglasses.
Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. When they look feminine to me, I'll like them. Even petiter girls if they carry it well but still have the hips I like. But we shouldn't sell a very particular bodytype (curvy) that requires a particular bone and muscle structure as something you get by 'not being skinny'. That doesn't really promote healthy lifestyles or will have girls with bodies like
Kesha packing on pounds thinking it will give them that nice curvy figure even though it'll only broaden their already naturally square shaped physique.
When I started going to the gym, I did it to look the way I want. I knew my limitations, but I wanted to make the best of them. What I didn't do is tell people that looked better than me to skip a gym session and rather eat a bag of chips on a couch playing Mario Kart.

Yep. Real body acceptance lies in acceptance. Not by demonising another class of bodytypes as 'even worse than yours'

For the record I am not saying overweight women are attractive and I do not support those girls you all are talking about that want to convince you that fatness is "real beauty" or "healthy" or anything like that. This is a little personal for me because I've had people IRL tell me my taste in women is fucked because I don't like twiggy/flat-chested/flat-assed/pale-as-fuck white girls and I personally like some color and some curves. Genevieve you're absolutely right that girls can be skinny and curvy and fat and flat. It's all relative.
