Yeah I've been forcing myself cross-eyed while scrolling down.

Haven't absorbed anything other than that someone isn't gay.

I remember getting massively spoiler'd about one of the biggest things that happens in the whole show via facebook.

Someone's status was all like "OMG! I can't believe blahblahblahblah"

was absolutely gutted, would've been so awesome to see it happen without knowing it was coming.

Similar thing for me. I was up to about series 3 and looking for a clip of an episode I had watched on youtube, whilst searching I saw the name of a scene that utterly ruined something much later on in another series. I was proper annoyed with myself.

YEH!! I had the exact same thing in Series 3 when McNulty paraglides into the Mayor's office with his pants down and a bottle of Jameson's up his arse

couldn't believe it when i read that...

treme has been a much slower burner for me than the wire but i think that is because i've actually had to wait between episodes whereas with the wire i had all 5 series ready to go when i started watching it and slammed it out in like a week.

treme is definitely more "down-to-earth" and not as epic which has pros and cons, still i am loving it. suppose i've always been into the music from the new orleans scene, it was one of the big 3 places i wanted to hit in america, new york, new orleans and san francisco.

Jus finished all five series and without a doubt I can say that its the best tv series ive watched in my life. The intricacy of all the plots and characters immerse you in their lives. I have spent the last hr reading every single post in this thread and once again snh is the best thing about dsf lol!
I felt though in this thread not much credit is given to daniels and he is one of my favourite characters! I love the way he is so 'moral' now but his past is shrowded in mystery, as he has been involved in some dodgy dealings when he was still a narco. Obviously i love Bunk, and not much is said either for Freamon! Jus to confirm he is now banging the stripper form series one? (she was mad hot!!). Anyway reallly appreciate the read and will be watching treme now!
Oh yea and BUMP to the man that said law and order SVU is one of the best shows on tele!

Yeah, Daniels is cool but more lucky than anything. His posture annoys me for some reason and his sex scene with Ronnie makes me wince.
Freamon goes without saying - natural po-lease, as they would say. Yeah, I think it's strongly implied he's with the ex stripper. Either that or they are really touchy feely friends.

No no, he's definitely with the ex-stripper. They show her living in his house, while he's all making his miniature furniture and junk.

And then there's that one episode where they're in the pub and Freamon basically says he's going home to jab her with his cock.

Freamon's a dude.

Was always a big fan of Pryzbylewski as well, I thought his development from seasons 1 to 4 was one of the best in a TV show full of brilliant character development.

joenice wrote:Personally, I think Omar is the best individual character on television. Better than Jack Bauer from 24. Better than Scofield from Prison Break. Better than the two cops on Law and Order SVU.

Omar is the guy.
1. He's a vigilante and he has a posse.

2. He walks around town w/a 12 gauge shotgun.

3. The police hate him....(he knows all of the drug dealers and he refuses to cooperate.)

4. The drug lords hate him...(he consistenly sticks up their runners for the drugs and cash.)

5. Neither side really wants to go to war with Omar. Basically, he's untouchable.

and -- as an added twist..

6. Omar has a boyfriend.

there are probably more important characters on the show (McNulty, the mayor, Barksdale), but Omar is it.

just finished all of them, so can read this thread now!

Best tv series I've ever seen. A big part being cos all the characters at so good. Although was a bit disappointed with season 5, seemed a but too far fetched.

Bunk gets my vote as best character.

EXactly the same thing happened to me, think I was looking for something lame like 'stringer bell actor' as well.

"Whos winning"

"No one wins, the other side just loses more slowly"

Yeah One of the all time great's. But Mcnulty's 'american' accent is a bit ropey, converseley Stringer's american accent is absolutely flawless.

if the wire was a game then the ultimate winner is bubbles and the ultimate loser is dookie.

Starting on the fifth now, for me the first and third seasons have been the best.
