El-B and Dillinja were talking about a 150 colabo in 2000/01 (check my sleeve notes on the Roots of El-B for more info). Dillinja d&b meeting happened about 2004/05
The Lemon D dubstep one happened in about 2007 I think.
Makes sense to me. Drum & bass got too fast. Once you get to a certain tempo you have to either strip the beats down like most modern drum & bass or it gets really intense and hectic like breakcore which I like but is an acquired taste.
