Thanks for the feedback guys, very much appreciated although, that is ANOTHER WIP that I have going at the moment.. I have given you feedback below for your troubles
I finally managed to bounce the track that wouldn't bounce although it meant having to take out some of the atmosphere so this version here is lacking a lot, especially on the vocals.. Here it is though!
[you will probably need to turn it up as I bounced it with headroom]

Rebel wrote:acian- filtered intro is very cool, the melody/synth is good quality;; but not my cup of tea ; im not into the happier stuff ; really like the kick, snare needs to be more upfront ; that bassline at the end really left me wanting more ; finish that up.
Rebel - Difference is amazing, the intro is awesome! Great job
deafblindmusic wrote:@ascian : Digging the build on this WIP, kick is HOOOOOOJ, and the snare is a little backed off, liking the vocal (where's that from?). And just as the drop comes...it stops...dammit! Huge huge bass, I want to hear more

Haha, cheers man.. Yeah snare has been turned up now since this version.. The vocal is an acapella of a Darren Styles tune called "Skydivin'" - It's UK hardcore and very in your face.. Quite like it sometimes! Well you will definitely be getting sent a few of my basses / patches with our collab so there's more where that came from!
Ematyael wrote:@ascian - : Like the arpeggio bit, good vocals, really love the atmosphere. These lyrics remind me of Darren Styles. A bit too much

He even has a song named Skydivin, but don't worry I won't tell anyone.
Haha! You got me!! I'm doing a Darren Styles remix oops.. All credibility lost!?
Your tune - I like the deep punchy snare sound.. Great sample and I like how it morphs! On the bass that comes in on the intro, is there a formant EQ on that? If so, that layer needs to be turned down SLIGHTLY I think.. There is some kinda piercing frequency on these monitors just over 2kHz and it comes in again at 1min 06. The most obvious thing to comment on after the drop is that the bass is WAYYY too loud.. Compress that mother! Contain that BEAST!! haha. Good job though man, looking forward to hearing more.

I do, but honestly I'm holding out on distro'ing anything around the remix till Adam Audioscape let's me know what he wants to do with it, and how he wants to handle it (it's his track after all).
On to feedback :
@Psythe : Cyberdyne Riot : I'm ignoring the mixdown, because I know you aren't done yet. The perc needs more weight and to be a lot louder. Bass chops all over the place, like that. I'd suggest you intersperse the bass cuts with the synth lead from the build to give it additional interest. Lastly, I'm not picking up any sub-bass at all, is there one in there?

@ninthy4 - Sick as always. Nothing to say. Teknian is teh shit !!!
@deafblindmusic - Sorry, but the brostep-stuff makes me go deafblind. : ( (But the intro + vocals are cool !

)
// But i have to say THAT i gave it another chance and... there is something strange in your track... something I can't figure out, but i like it!
@psythe - huh, same words... dno anything about that brostep but... you should work more on your sound quality.
@Ascian - Hmm, yeah. Very interesting track, i love these random sounds and FX-s. Keep up that unconventional style.
Here's mine -

I appreciate your feedback very much !

LOL, I have NO idea what "bro-step" or any of the other sub-sub-sub genre's are, but thanks for your feedback anyway
As for your remix WIP, deep, really digging it actually. The deep bass sweeps remind me of something I can't put my finger on (perhaps the background sounds from the Normandy in Mass Effect *grin*). No other input, other than there's a little crackling somewhere, like there's some clipping going on.
Cheers!

Hello been a while since ive been in a thread like this but im stuck on a tune and dneed some help
@z6z- some interesting sounds, not really feeling the snare, sounds a bit high and tinny. Also you might want to reduce some of the reverb on those crashes they kind of take over the whole tune, taking away from the cool basses which im hearing- bit too much white noise in there too
@ascian- nice vibes here, the samples are nice- along with the pad melody made me smile. Its a big intro and the drums coming in sound good, though the little stutters like at 1:16 through me a bit. In the progression i think it would be good to hear some more noises floating over the top ofthe mix (for some reason i cant help thinking of an icecream van tune for it lol) while the main melody keeps flowing
@psythe- i like the pitch bends on the main synth, sounds like some turkish psychedelia at the start- would like to hear more of that synth without all the distortion on it. Also, you need some sub bass in there, like really
@gv1- nice start man, sounding good but i think you definitely need more bass underneath there, stick two lowpassed detuned square waves underneath there, make it hard. Also a thing i find useful with bassline is pitching the vocals up a load every 16 bars or something for one bar, makes the progressions more hype
@joekool- nice crisp intro- liking the hats. is that a chainsaw sample in your drop lol? I think it needs to be cleaned up though, the white noisey effect is drowning your mix, you cant hear the main noise in there. Also you need some sub bass underneath there
@sera1- some nice noises here as well as a bit of sub, very transformer esque. Think the melody kind of violin synth is a bit too quiet, i can hardly hear it. Also if you're gonna put those breaks in you should have them as the beat on the second drop cos its kind of weird hearing them come in and then drop out again
@kidstrange- theres some nice harmonies and stuff in here, goodviolin melodies and sub, sounds a bit like a christmas tune though with the bells and stuff lol. Think the snare is a bit weak though and the whole track could do with a bit of panning to increase the whole immersive side to the piece
@projekt-some nice skipy drums- the bass could do with being a bit louder/ switched up from being just a straight sine- add some lfo or something, its dragging the tune back. Some good vocal cuts but maybe put a bit more reverb delay on them to blend them into the tune better/keep them interesting by automating it.
@johnkimble- some sick tunes man- bass needs to be low passed in the first one- second one is pure vibes
heres mine

techno kind of thing

Here's a WIP I'm doing for a remix of Emeli Sandé's - "Breaking the law" acapella. I'm still kinda new to production but just wanted to see what you all thought. As usual I'll be sure to respond with my own feedback.
Thanks for listening guys, it means a lot!

@JTL: Love the intro! The bass sounds nice, but it feels a little slow for my tastes. (I like shitty brostep though so take that with a grain of salt

)
@hutyluty: I really liked it, personally. Only thing I can think of is to vary it up a little bit to keep it from getting repetitive.
@z6z: You did a really good job of making everything in the track fit together, especially the vocals. (I always have a hard time getting vocals to work in a track) Overall, really impressive track.
@Ascian: Really like the atmosphere, with all the odd little sounds in the background.

Did you record those?
@Psythe: Nice

Try working on the drums a little though. They sound a little hollow to me.
Here's my WIP. It's a remix of a song I'm working on for a competition

@JTL, will listen later because I'm on work computers right now...but I thought you should know the concept is feedback before posting your tunes, not after you get your feedback.

Got it right let's see:
@Psythe I feel like the kick is awesome but is let down a great deal by the snare. With some real punch it'll make the bass pop too. LOVE the wobs and the female vocal sample you have in there. Kept me interested til the end, good job!
@hutyluty I found it to be a tad repetitive at times, but the bits I heard were promising!
@z6z Who's the first MC? I like this but I think the levels on the vocals are a TAD too high. Also there's far too much reverb for my tastes. Other than that shit bumps man! Nice.
@deafblindmusic I love that track! For me there's next to NO sub though? Far too much highend, sounds a bit tinny.. other than that, great wobs, and vocals have been solidly integrated, sweet!

No sub? What are you listening on? My monitors and multiple systems haven't told me there's no sub, it's hitting right at 20hz - 50hz in my spectroscope, but it's definitely not pushing too hard. If it sounds too toppy I also want to know what you're listening on (for reference I am on Behringer Truth B3031A's with ribbon tweeters which can be a little on the bright side), so I'm honestly surprised to hear you think it's too toppy. The sub doesn't surprise me though
I'll A/B it with some Koan Sound/Nero/Vex'd for comparison this evening. Cheers for the feedback!

@deafblindmusic I'm on yamaha hs80ms however I'm beginning to think my tweeters are faulty... this isn't the first time this has happened, as for sub im on a yamaha hs10w. On a second listen, I hear the sub, I'd just boost those frequencies a touch perhaps. Have listened a few times through now though, love the track!

No worries, for what it's worth I do agree with you on the sub, I was deliberately backing off on it, because I usually super overdo it - and it swamps the mix. The problem is partially that it's rooted in A, and sub's hit hardest around D/E/F, so I'll have to boost the second harmonic at 60 - 80hz to get back some of the weight, or look at another sub setup (I put this one together in FM8).
Cheers,

@JTL Track full of feeling, love alot! The arp synth is done very nicely, congratz! I would like to see this track get big. However, the bass is moving very slow, speed that thing up, boy.
@Sine69 very nice work! The intro has a great atmosphere. The vocal sound a bit too reverbed/delayed. bass patch sounds like datsik! Drop sounds empty though, which is fine if that was your intention..if not, add some leads or something, atmosphere, more hats idk.
@Hutyluty those are some very interesting sounds, you used there in the buildup. For a moment, I thought somebody was knocking on my room wall lol. I don't have a single thing to criticize, man. congratz!
Here's my DnB track. I think its about done. This will be the final version unless somebody points out something that needs to be done. Free 320 download aswell.

@Loadium:i told you on soundcloud, the bitcrusher sound is great! maybe a little more of samples and subbass, but just a little, i think its a great tune!
@Swaggr: maybe, as you said, the drums in the intro need some fix, hehe, and the bass could be more deep, but still i like it, the melody its really nice
wizardd wrote:@homeless man the way you are going with that song you wont be homeless anymore

XD hahahhaa i only keeding

but man great job literally it doesnt get a hint of boring through out it, not that anything really does, one of my songs omg .....repetitive nightmare LOL i just stopped working on it altogether, i will go back to it another time.
@wizardd: thanx man! i think your "fun" tune its brutal, yes a bit crazy and that, but im a bit crazy and i love it, has a lot of energy, you work on that more and its clearly a big tune
@Ematyael: thanx for your tips, you are right about the transitions, but they are just undone, hehe, and the bass definitely has to be more prominent. Your tune its great, but i just think it takes too long on changing, it seems to be a relaxed tune anyway, i like the bass its so emotional, the melody you know. besides that the beat, has great sounds but a little more of volume would be fine.
@deafblind: im sorry has no coment for you, your tune ist just great enough to be in anyone mp3's.... i cant search improvements to that
So here it is, our (we are 2) last wip, comments, advice, criticism welcome(volume its a bit low, turn up your speakers):

Thanks mate, regardless, I've taken JTL's feedback and re-worked some of the sub mixdown. Clip was updated in my sig. As for your track, percussion is good, pretty much perfectly mixed as far as I am concerned. The YOI bass sound I can take or leave, but that's personal prejudice on my part. The speed up is super cool, great idea. The only bit missing really is the sub. Other than that, I actually listened to this 3 times, which is saying something. Good job!
