Have done more on this track and made it a lot cleaner in terms of mixdown.

Want feedback on what may need changing and whether it feels stagnant after a while to you lot and how to change that if you have any ideas, cheers!

z6z - I like the granular type sounds in the intro.. White noise builds it nicely and holds interest. Pulsating verb on that hit is lovely.. I like how subtle the sub bass is.. If it was any louder it wouldn't work I think. Didn't expect the vocal to come in! I really like it.. Darker than you'd normally hear with a vocal like this - Great job!

hutyluty - Haha, slightly confused so far! It's starting to emerge though.. 4x4 kick, nice.. Trancey, hypnotic. I like the hit that's panned to the right and the panning synth.. The background noises are a little toooo "backgroundy" imo.. I like the beat with the vocal jerk when it comes in.. I think this could just use some layering and 3Difying but I do like it

Sine69 - VERY atmospheric - Hmmm, loving this so far.. Lovely melody. Great vocal, fits perfectly.. What is it? Bass took me by surprise for sure! I think there needs to be a little break before bass drop. In terms of mixing, the bass is too loud on my system here.. Sounds more like lack of compression than loudness though.. Takes up too much of the mix. Very hypnotic and a nice progression on the bass.. Good job!
The sounds in my WIP are all mangled beyond recognition.. Most of them started off as binaural field recordings though, yep!

jrisreal - Nice beat and the bass is thick and pleasing! Great job overall

Hero - Love that tune, well done mate, great job! Haunting vocal! What is the vocal?

LoDefDojo - I say go for the second basses first!

homeless - Nice sounds in the intro.. A nice reverb on it.. Beat creeping in.. Filtering threw me off a little but I'm getting used to it and it fits with the portamento synth! Synth needs some EQing in the high end.. I really like the build up and sample but I think the bass needs working on! Or maybe I'm just not a fan of that yoi thing

ascian - i love that atmosphere.. mixdown deff needs work. very cool beat and work on that front though.. not a fan of the bells around 1:40 but thats my oppinion. This really has the feel of a jam that could really build on itself.

jris - im a fan of this.. love the dnb offerings on the board lately. feel like there possibly could be something missing at the main breakdown that could be keeping this from causing a tad more appeal. Love 1:40 bass.. may i have

raincoatdisaster - Cheers for the feedback man.. Could you tell me what about the mixdown needs more work on your system? Yeah the melody with the piano (I assume that's what you mean!?) I wasn't too sure about either.. May change that!

Your WIP - Very interesting after the drop, I really like that you expect the bass in the beginning to run as the theme after the drop but it takes a back seat.. In the intro, I kind of wanted the high passed bass sound to have some midrange brought into it gradually as you near the drop.. That'd also help to create tension. Percussion is VERY clean, I really like it. Not picking up any sub bass over this side and it because of that it definitely feels a bit lacking.. The glide at 34 seconds I didn't enjoy but the glide back up straight after that sounds awesome.. May sound good just with the glide going back up? Although that's personal!

@raincoatdisaster intro melody is very nice but after the drop i miss some bottom end its maybe cause of the low volume; but drum setting and groove of the bassline are floating really nice

@ascian mixdown seems fine here i can differ the sounds nicely; but i cant get into the main melody; every thing else works fine for me especially the piano in the end

@homeless i really like it haha love yois has a really nice composition and melodies but cant say how i feel the mix cause i cant raise the volume so high

this one is close to finished but maybe you have some more ideas

Thanks for your insight on my tune. the build is the biggest work in progress right now so will see.

You just need to turn down some elements in your song and make the elements fit in there own space. Try to have that roar or whatever that sexy sound you got going on sit a little further outside of the pad in the stereo image (aka use a spreader or the million other techniques to do this). Or just eq it down in the treble fq so it sits below it. Maybe some verb to sit it back. But before going too drastic in changing anything try to make everything fit just by adjust the volume down a bit. hope that jumbled mess helps

@Ascian - SkysNotBlue: Vocals are a little hard to hear. Sick kicks, I'm jealous. The chimey thing is a little out of place in the sound mix. Love the vibe though, and the pianos at the end are great, could be louder though. Try changing up that middle sound.

@Raincoat - Sirens: Quiet, but thats fixable. Smooth intro, the arp pads are a little meh imo. The lfo'd thing is weak as well. Interesting start, but idk what to tell you. Work up the volume, add more too it, keep working at it?

@BudSpencerton - Vurzer: Love the echoed sound and the horn. Sick wobble! Vocals are spot on. Fuckin groovy *bobs head*. Great sequencing on the first segment. Clean transition into the break. Pretty solid track overall. I would personally enjoy the second wobble section at the end to be a little longer, but that may just be me. Great work

I just started this thingy yesterday, so I apologize for the utter lack of mixing and terrible levels. You can get the idea of what I'm going for I think. The thing I'm iffy about is the main bass, the one in the build up and right at the drop. I love it, but I don't know how well it works. Apart from fixing the mix and whatnot, what do you guys think?

neurofunk reese lol. all the basses in that track are neurofunk reeses... and I hear you about it missing something. I think I will be adding a vocal if I can find a decent one to fit with the track.

Ematyael- the intro is a bit muddy and hectic man, clean up the mixdown and make it a bit more sparse. drums are almost unhearable, really work on that man. mainly turn your midrange down its overwhelming the rest of the tune by miles.also add more of a sub or turn your current one up a bit, it lacks presence in the mix.

BudSpencertron- I like the intro on this one, especially that metallic sound. maybe have more of a defined drop into the main body of the tune. all the ideas are spot on. turn your sub up a bit though. I also like how you progress the tune as well, think its really creative. great tune man

Raincoatdisaster- nice little intro, all the elements coexist nicely. what id mainly think about is an increased sub presence it currently feels a bit weak. everything else seems pretty good mate its a good start keep at it!

lol, you tell everybody to turn their sub up. well anyway, thats not a bad idea...but try layering a high pitched screechy sound with the wobble (and don't wobble the screech) and see what you can get (just make sure you don't give yourself hearing damage haha)...and turn up your sub

haha i know I swear either im going deaf in that range of frequencies or its my headphones, ill have a go at that mate and Iv already had to turn my sub down on this tune it was eating headroom like mad!

Ascian - I would do minor changes on the samples, like maybe a bit of reverb to add that mystic atosphere, but this track has TONS of potential , so much can be done with it , great job very humble track.
Budspencertron - i reallly like the first drop, but after that you kinda lost me :/ i think if you maybe stick to the original foundation of the track, it will come out veryyyyy good. not one of my favs from you , but i can appreciate it .
Cheeky- WOW, i love the simplicity, and the way the track breathes, spaces between the bass leave your mind to jjust fully listen to what your hearing, i love love love it!!!
great job, definately make the final product available to download !! cause i would love a banger like this in one of my sets !

I would say maybe vary the bassline and please dont take this as an offense i dont mean it that way your song is beautiful just a little variation in the basslines, like develop the basslines more, make them more intricate and with other sounds but based on those original sounds, that way the sounds flow very well together because at their heart they are from the same sound family hahaha

@ wizard loving the vibe of that track, the snare is sick and the melody in the mid breakdown is really sharp it cuts the tone really nicely.

@ Yarp - That bass is epic! Don't really know what to say lol, the whole tune is really clean and very well made, if i were to say one thing it would be the hats are a tiny bit sharp in some places. But overall sick tune man.

@ Cheeky, that's coming along really well. I'de say switch up the bassline a little bit more and think of trying to bring in some kinda pad/mellody content to ride over the bass riff that'd go down well


I took a bit of a break from Producing for a while, recently got inspiration and hammered this out in the last 2 days. I'm not on the same level of clean sounding shit as some of you here but I'm pretty impressed with the work, its the best I've done so far. Its still a wip obviously so I'd like some FB on what needs fixing up, I think it sounds quite muddy at the mo and things aren't as defined as they could be, anyway, take a listen, tell me what u think

@specimanyarp i had a feeling that this technoesc approach after the first part could be like a bad idea for many people but had so much fun adding this stupid one note grooves haha so jeah i think i will try a pure dubstep version too. your tune is intense haha but its to much brostep for me maybe its the same with my techno ideas for you but its definitly heavy

@atticuh thanks for listening; haha your tune go a nice 70s synthie vibe to it after the drop maybe work little bit more on the overall mix and shorten the long intro or add some more elements as you come closer to the drop

@wizzard haha you first tune is just disgusting would maybe lower the whole bass and give it more lke a sub reece hybrid kinda idea maybe try it in some parts of the tune
second tune i think if you just work little bit on the mixdown and bring the bass sounds more in the front it will be a really nice experimental tune the snare clap is to sharp for my taste and maybe try to get rid of the clipping after the basssounds by adding some release or adding more attack time

@turnipish thoughts this is very psychedalic like can be used for some f***d up drug trip in a movie or something haha maybe just work little bit more on mixdown and bringen the sounds up in volume

just add this you can have a listen if you want and add some thoughts but if not its fine too cause i wont work much more on it, i think

By "the samples" do you mean the voice? Everything else I made myself. If it's not the voice, could you be more specific, cheers!

Your tune - I like the sound in the beginning, needs a little EQing though! Voice is awesome but needs to be slightly lower in volume.. Snare I really like, kick is great and fits well but needs a lot more punch. Basses are awesome though, great job! Also, I felt a little scared to turn it up as it is very "loud" haha. How much gain reduction is on it!?

BudSpencertron - Loving the feel of the intro.. Very warm instruments. The low passed kick and rim shot are awesome.. Perfect for it and I love how the snare opens up the spectrum a bit.. Voice is perfect.. Bass is very atmospheric and great but I'd notch out some of those more muddy low freqs as it SLIGHTLY takes up too much of the mix. It's a shame you aren't carrying on with this as I think it's pretty awesome!

Turnipish Thoughts - Good beat, Ilike the limited/compressed feel.. May need a little more punch on the beat though.. Riser is cool, works its way up well.. Is this all an intro or has it 'dropped'? I think the drop needs to be more obvious and deliberate for sure. Good work though

@raincoatdisaster : Sirens : Like the atmospherics in the intro. When the drop starts I think you're looking to keep the perc a bit more gentle, then guessing dropping into something super heavy. I (note, obviously personal choice) would keep the percussion and bass high-pass filtered, and just where your clip ends, drop in with full bass/percussion, and make it kinda nuts. Keeps people off kilter

@budspencertron : Vurzer : Again a nice atmospheric intro. The bassline progression is good, but the lack of attack on the lead bass sound is distracting me, it's hitting about 1/8th of a note too late against the percussion, making the stilted nature of it seem more distracting. Like the percussion (needs to come up, particularly the snare). Like the drop to the more techno style. Think you're missing some opportunity to introduce more melodic elements there that you can carry forward into the rest of the track. That section is also a little too long, then the break down takes you by surprise. Interesting track though, nice mix of ideas!

@ematyael : The Voice : Pretty mid-range heavy on the lead sound, almost too brittle (you using Waves L1/L3 with the wrong dither?). Percussion is lost under the bass, you need to re-balance that mix, but in terms of the sound and general direction I like where this is headed.

@cheeky : Looter : Topical track title Super clean mixdown, nicely balanced, obviously not limited and mastered, I'd like more variation in the bass sound, and hell, find some news clips about the London riots and intersperse those snippets to add atmospheric interest.

@specimen-yarp : Drone Extinctors : Excision much hehehe? Nice robot/lazer bass. More snare please, like, loads more.

@wizardd : Universaldub : Dig the hat pattern on this, that bass is pretty chunkerific too, but I like it. The resonant sounds in the 2nd drop are too high for me, you might want to notch at the really resonant frequencies.

Dubrubitinyoface : Snare/clap is too compressed for my liking, I like the build up at 1:41 with the onrushing wind sound bringing in the hats. The horror sound at 1:57 is nice, needs delay and reverb to carry it over and keep the atmosphere going, in fact make it a key feature of the start of every 8 bars.

@i am fiction : Nice pianos and atmos. Drop is good. Snare needs more snap, you need to notch out room for it with the lead bass sound. Sub??

@Turnipish Thoughts : Nice nice build, but it doesn't drop enough after the build. Needs more mid-range sparkle but you've got lots of really good ideas in there that I think you need to play with sparingly and introduce/remove to keep the interest up. Nice work.

@budspencertron: Fly : I love this. You like Burial clearly. The bass sound needs to come down just a hair.

@ascian : The Sky's Not Blue : Very clean sounding to me in terms of mixdown. Feel is interesting, kinda stilted and broken, which I like. Needs moar sub
