I saw Roni Size here a few weeks ago and he was pretty shit, also opened up by mixing loads of classics really quickly, turns out it was all on one CD

Would be kind of cool if I spent my life trapped in a sega mega drive. Think he should stick to the piano.

I sort of like it but wouldn't ever buy it. Guessing it's rather limited since it's 10" and single sided.

The only good (recent) dnb release on a dubstep label was the J:Kenzo remixes release on Tempa.
The Calibre release on Deep Medi was pretty good.

Again?

Also that tune isn't terrible I guess. But Deep Medi isn't about not being terrible. Weird one.

that tune is serious wank. Sounds like something you hear on UKFDrumandbass.

personally I would rather MEDI stuck to dubstep, but this is not that bad. it sounds like average dnb. couldn't see ukf or the kids getting into this, but i do wonder if this is some sort of a transitionary move...

Yeah the Calibre release was top but they were dubstep tunes done by a dnb artist, not a full on dnb release.

I read the comments before I heard it and I was thinking "I bet it's not that bad". But it kind of is, isn't it?

Tune pretty much sums up everything that's wrong with dnb (or most of it, you know what I mean).

but it is only a remix of one track, I can't imagine deep medi is gonna release many more tunes on that sort of vibe.

deep medi has been abit hit and miss with me for a few years now, i dont believe the hype with half the tunes, regardless of the name of the producer.

i've never really loved any of goth trads tunes aswell tbh.. cosmos and babylon fall were nice tunes but never really got me excited.

miss deep medi tunes like fatman and geddeon.

broken lfo was a massively underatted tune in my opinion, dub mechz dont get as much love as some of the bigger named prodcuers on the label.
much prefer their tracks to swindles or goth trads.

theres so much exciting dubstep out there right now and the scene looks as healthy as it has in a long time..
Las has took things beyond what i could imagine with some of his tracks. hypnogogia and tic are tunes from out of this world and deserve a deep medi release imo.
and this weak ass dnb tune has got a release on the scenes biggest label whilst we wait for a long list of dubs to be released.

dubstep needs more labels in my opinion.

Last year they were on fire, only 2 releases I didn't buy were the Swindle ones.(Tunnidge plate came out in 2013) But this year I haven't been too bothered apart from the Quest & Commodo plates.
I really want more tunes like Stolen Children.

Agreed, Highest Strain was one of my favourite tracks last year.
dubstep needs more labels in my opinion.
Get on with it then!
