is it worth me saving for an mpc 1500 for £350 when I could get a pc for cheaper. I want an akai though just to make beats but is it worth it? answers welcomed.

Get a PC and MPD, you can create the workflow of the MPC in a daw (Especially Ableton), you will just be looking at monitor rather than a small LCD display

Cos I tried and it sucked ball. Maschine on the other hand is a decent replacement.

The cost of maschine is the price of a PC and you still need a PC though, Ableton is versatile enough to apply hardware-like workflows, you just need to learn a few things within it.

cheers I already know my way round ableton a bit so makes more sense.

My brother told me that for this local day festival they put on in kent last weekend, it ended up costing them 400k and that it cost 35k to book loco dice for an hours set. wtf
