and i'd agree with you on the not being friends with thing if the breakup was shitty, the other person being a bitch, cheating etc. but if things just didn't work out, there's no point in not being friends imo. and even then, if you can get past your shit, why not? and also, there's situations where you both have common friends and will see each other often

off the top of my head i cant think of one person i know whos still comfortably friends with their ex (counting proper exes here and not fuckbuddies and minirelationships)
