And FWIW, if those are Technics they'll be 1200s not 1210s, the mixer looks like a DJM600 (though could be a 500), the CD player is a CDJ800 and the headphones are Sony MDR-v700s.

And the black music stand holding up pictures, vinyl & the Aphex CD in the background is most likely a Manhasset.

I am engorged with knowledge right now.

i only produce. i have dj friends who spin my stuff, mainly one guy at this point, but i am working on that.
i need to get into djing eventually and put some local nights together, to get my tunes out there. my friend use vinyl ( i am 30, hes the same, haha) and he also has traktor scratch. the traktor is a nice setup but it seems a bit glitchy and unstable. what advice would you guys give on some gear to get up and running with new school ones and twos? curious what the 'industry standard' or scene standard is over there....thanks boys...
1210s or 1200s and a mixer and some records.

Thx for the creative reply. Haha. Seriously though, I am well versed in vinyl and tables. I am interested in digital players and dj equip. I.e. sorato, traktor scratch, cd dj, etc.
I am looking for feedback from experienced users, I can read reviews all day. Thx guys.

Both Serato and Traktor will be fine. Both shouldn't be glitchy on a decent system.
You already have the turntables, so all you need is a timecode kit (interface, tc vinyl, cables).
I don't know shit about cdj's or fully digital setups except for the fact that I hate all of it for some reason.

I'd rather play cdjs then use my laptop with serato or traktor but that's just me.
that said, anyone in the us want to buy a native instruments s4 for use with traktor?

Go to the buy/sell/trade thread in the SNH

If you already own turntables and enjoy using them Serato could be a good option though.
It's cheaper than buying a pair of cdjs if you can get the serato box for a good price and mixing on vinyl is more enjoyable to me and it would let you play any tunes you produce or get digital copies of straight away without fannying about burning cds.
The only issue is carting a laptop to a club and having to set it all up and whatever. Plus the club may have shit turntables/needles.

Just to elaborate on this so your understanding of turntables is a little better Sonika.. 1200s are a silver colour whereas the 1210s are black. Hence why Wub said if they're technics they'll be 1200s not 1210s. They look silver, not black.
Almost finished my setup back home, going back from uni Sunday so I'll try get a picture up Monday.. my very first setup

No difference, just the colour.
Oh, I think the 1210 comes with a selectable internal transformer, as it was designed for the Europe/Asia market. But in terms of performance, no difference.

				Thanks for ur replies.
Yeah I like the idea of not burning CDs all the time. I guess I'll be looking at putting together a sorato or tractor setup. That seems to make the most sense for me at this point. I do not own real decks so I think this would be a good place to start.

Thought you had the turntables already, a good place to start is some decks or cdjs.

Don't look now, but there appears to be an alien peering out of your bookcase.
And mixdowns? I think you mean mixups?
