jsml wrote:Wow, I'd never even heard of 4AD before a couple of weeks ago and now they've signed up two of my favourite producers
Really? They are quite big in the indie rock world.
This may explain why I've never heard of them.
Fair play to them for signing Zomby & Joker though, can't wait for both the albums (assuming the Joker one is coming on 4AD, that hasn't really been confirmed)
Yeah, I think the cool thing about 4AD as a label is the crossover factor. You can definitely note conceptual similarities between artists like Cocteau Twins and Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti versus Zomby and Joker.

All I know is if this is iTunes only, I'm gonna break something.

Considering the quality of Joker's work, I highly doubt he'd let this happen... Plenty of 12" releases to prove this.

On his Bristol Xmas Sub FM set he played some tunes with a couple of grime MCs on them. Assuming these will be on the album? Not sure, the sets definitley worth listening to though, bare new Joker bits, and every other set is a stormer too.

I reckon it'll be a cd/mp3 release with a few singles released on the side, similar to Ikonika's album.

Sick track. Although I must say, I can usually enjoy vocals but this girl just does not shut her mouth and let the music breathe.
"Pre-orders have started to emerge in record stores for a Joker 12″ on the label, titled ‘The Vision’. The A-side is a vocal version of the track (‘The Vision (Breathe In)’ with former Sbtrkt collaborator Jessie Ware, while the B is the instrumental. Whether this is a one-off or the start of something bigger for Joker and 4AD, we don’t know.
‘The Vision’ is due for release on May 16. You can listen to audio below."

This is exciting people. The common strategy before an album release to capitalize on sales it to release a single or three from the album, and then release the album itself.
I think this means that we will see the album real soon!
