I'm wondering how many tunes the album will have. Since it's a bigger label I'm assuming that there will obviously be a digi release, but do you think the digital and and vinyl release will be the same like Return II Space / Urban Ethics? Or do you think he'll select a few tracks to be on the 12"s and have the full release on the CD / Digi.

Only couple of months to go, so excited for this album.

He posted a couple tracks on facebook the other day wasnt really diggin it

I reckon it'll be double 12" business with multiple tunes pressed on each side, but I also have do idea how Brownswood normally handles vinyl album releases. 14 tunes is doable on 2x 12" at 33rpm.

well calle F and cuba electronic are already confirmed as the sampler 12" so thats one release sorted....
The last brownswood lp i bought was Gang Colours which was a single plate, 6 tunes at 33rpm on one side jobby..
but clearly the Mala album will have more of an interest for DJ's so hopefully it might come on a DMZ style 6 tracks over 3 plates...looking forward to finding out...
Kutmah's release was like 18 tracks over 2 plates, probably most likely scenario i reckon

And often it isn't just about pure lack in volume but about the track lacking in certain frequencies. Tinkering with the eq trying to make a tune sound decent in the middle of a mix is not the one.

I wonder how much of this album will be made for the dancefloor though, I imagine there will be a few that are more suited to home listening.

I think we will be getting a 4X box set all pressed at 45 which would be 8 tracks plus the sampler so 10 tracks, then maybe the other 4 will be short peices that can still fit on one side of each plate in the box set. So each plate will have 3 tracks but at 45. I hope they're at 45 anyway

I haver plenty of good records at 33rpm. Soul Jazz compilations, B-sides of early Skreamizms, Mountain Dread March, ect. Not sure why people think its a problem. As long as its two tunes per side, All good.

Ill have to do a side by side comparison some day, cause ive never noticed and real significant difference between 33 and 45 (other than the volume part).

I'm no expert by any means but I think its about how wide the grooves are (bass takes up a lot of space, I believe). So frequency response, unlike volume, doesn't depend on the rpm (I don't think) but it tends to be the case that if a record is at 33rpm its trying to take up less space, cram in more information and won't sound as good.
