BluTac is MUCKY ! Very old school grime/garage, absolutely filthy - 4 years ago this would of been a underground smasher, serious.
Totaly agree that track is deeeeep. i would pay to listen to that anyday bruv. cant help but move to it!

drums are good, and the vibes and sounds are nice and relaxing, mabye add a skank rhythm with an organ or piano or guitar?

but i just cant stand the melodies man, it sounds like you just slopped down 4 random notes, i dunno if u were going for this, but its your tune

also, i feel the tune lacks a bit of drive, if you know what i mean, but if you want it more laid back/loungey then you might want that

For sure i feel that. Its actual a vocal tune but the vocalist needs to re-record so I guess thats why the melodies feel out of place but they go with the notes the vocalist is singing.

@ Jostov, I like it, feel the hihats are a bit harsh, maybe adds the reverb to them a little?

@ BigEarl, today is my hihat crit day, Sounds a little too mechanical, maybe take the quantize off 'em, Interesting Filtering on the bass though, like the vocal samples too

Im gonna try and post in this section more, I only listen to online players e.g zshare, virb, myspace etc but will try and give helpful feedback

sounds ok, but for me the levels didn't sit quite right. perhaps some more eqing would help.

Just finished "Swagger" Real happy with the vibes on this one. I'm thinking that it needs some more oomph in the mid bass area, but not quite sure.

this shit is gonna have me laughing for days bro  by far the best post i've ever seen on this forum

jostov - uproar LOL that bassline is genius, just get your practice in with the sequencing ;)

I think a lot of folks posting in this thread are in a beginning phase of production, during which I feel feedback is not very important. don't try to make great tunes right now, in stead focus on trying to learn and improve your skills, via LOTS of practice, of course, testing new things, trying to recreate sounds, doing research, trying different software, listening to your favorite producers to try to figure out how their 'formulas' work, etc. Not saying anybody isn't doing that already... in any case, that's a route I ended up taking, which helped me a LOT :).

very good advice, i started making tunes but now ive gone down the road you said earthling and its starting to become pretty beneficial, also ive found, trying to produce out of your comfort zone is a challenge !

not my cup of tea (a bit too far out for me fella!!) one peice of advice that i would give you is to practice using compression. these will help 'your' sound on so many levels...

try it first on every channel and then experiment tentatively with it on the master maybe...
-Dubson- wrote:got a tune on myspace "expect", first tune with my new headphones so mix might sound a bit off. have a listen anyway.

not a bad vibe, but i would say a couple of things...the perc/bassline feel a little weak. the perc needs to maybe be a little more interesting for this tune given that the bass repeats for most of the track. the perc would need to be lively and fluid to accomodate this static bassline. and for the bass i would recommend as always some heavyish compression to bring all the frequencies to the front and to generally toughen-up/beef-up the sound. i do like you use of verb and the 'space' this creates in the tune. i also like that vocal sample, well chosen. it fitst the vibe of the tune really well.

fat bass on zones by the way..also i actually quite like play it as well, very strange but cool. nice choice of snare hits...

soooooooooooooooooooooooo, here is my offering to the production Gods:

I love the flute, but the mix gets a bit monotone at the end, nice job though.
