I think the problem with alcohol, along with many other drugs, is that people consume it too quickly to measure particularly accurately. The point here isn't to get drunk to resolve post-drunkeness. It's a bit like taking pain killers, pace it out. Drink one, maybe two, and wait for a while to see how you feel.

all my friends are completely sick of my insanity, my family is at the point of violent contention.
surly most anyone i've ever worked with musically undoubtedly never wants to work with me again.
and none of that means anything to me if I never have the opportunity to meet a few specific people.
