Looking for some feedback on my first dubstep track. I was in a weird mood during the holidays and decided to make a christmas themed wobbler, would have had it up in time for the 25th but Soundcloud and this forum hate me. Would love to hear what you guys think, especially with regards to the mixing/mastering cos that is still a total black art to me.

now this one i like! the oldschool soul feeling in the beginning and throughout is a nice and original touch. the drop is nice and massive, the swell is well constructed and its a good idea overall.
the only thing i would recommend is more synth variety within the drop, it seems like the second synth that comes in is the same as the first but with a different freq... this is my personal preference, of course... if you like the consistency then by all means keep it the way it is, it's definitely groovin'
much love

Hmm.. so my first thought was "no way... christmas and dubstep?"
but you pulled it off nicely! i love a good ThemeStep, and this one is well done. Your mixing and mastering is about as good as you need it to be, i wouldn't worry about that too much..
the samples are well thought and set the mood nicely, but i was definitely expecting a grinch sample haha..
the synths are nice, the teaser in the first drop made me want more..
i would personally cut out a bit of the breakdown, i found it a bit long and found myself skipping thru it a bit when the sleigh bells started to grate on my brain a bit.. (but i will confess that bells aren't my favorite, which is a little ironic since my last name is knell haha..)
and a little variety within the synths is always a good idea, i love being caught off guard.. unless you're going for a more old school clean sound, which is definitely still cool.
but you have a stand up track so far, definitely listenable
much love

this one brought a smile to my face!
all is good, you have a great subbass goin on, and the baby sample is definitely a brain tickler.
drop is well done and quite heavy, it shook my pantlegs, which is a good sign.
the only things that i would change, personally, is the noise that pops up after every other snare hit... it's nice at first, but eventually started messing with my head and made me keep thinking that the my speakers were clipping or that the mp3 was skipping or had weird upload errors... if you're going for a more off-beat sound than keep it, but if you're looking to groove people you might want to think about changing/removing it.
hope this helped
much love

mm, quite enjoyable, very chilled out, oldschool dub feel to it. definitely brings back memories. the sub bass is perfect, and the off hit plinks are nice, they tie it together quite well. the synth at the beginning is super ethereal and sets the mood oh so nicely.
however, i consider this a 'plateau' song.. it seems to get up to the groove and stick there, breakdown, then pop right back up to a second plateau. this gives it a very strong trance feel, which is awesome if that's what you're going for.
if you're looking for a more progressive, jaw-clenching kinda groove, you want to build and build and break and build sporadically.. keep the listener guessing, but keep it danceable. mix 80% predictability with 20% insanity and you have most people groovin.
this would work great in a mix as it is tho, its a head nodder for sure.
much love

much love n peace
tell me what you think n shit...
pluses:
+the synths you have here are well done...! the robotic "yeh" sound is always killer
+the vocal sample you have is quite good as well, that girl has quite a voice. adds a nice trance value!
+kick drum gets the job done and then some
on the downside:
-this is an 'up and down' dub, which is my own definition meaning it alternates from one note to another, then back to the first note, then breakdown, then repeat. songs like this based on one interval tend to get mixed in and out of sessions rather quickly, as there is not much variety.
-the vocal sample is almost going the entire song, it sounds a bit rinsed by the end of it.. perhaps more effective when used sparingly?
definitely a stand up tune, overall, keep em coming..!
much love
