its the same kind of head that all beer produces, but yeah just more of it. a lot of belgian beers are not only force carbonated but they can also go through secondary fermentation by pitching a little extra yeast in the bottle before corking or capping. gives it more carbonation, and depending on the yeast, different flavors if aging is appropriate.

one of my favorite belgians and its not even trappist:

^ I'm going to get me a bottle of that ;-)

The Delirium Nocturnum was a very good beer, but I felt it was a little bit of a let down considering the price I paid for it. Didn't wow me in anyway.

Had a Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA the other night, and that blew me away. Though I was slightly drunk, high as fuck, and listening to minimal techno at high SPL's at the same time :6:

Currently sitting on a bottle of Delirium Tremens, Westmalle Dubble, Rochefort 10, a can of Guinness Draught, and still the La Trappe Dubble. Going to go buy some more beer on wednesday :D

Anyone cook with beer? I once marinated some Lamb rump steaks in Guinness, Tabasco, Worcester sauce, and some parsley over night. Turned out pretty good, meat was very tender, and none of the flavours where too over powering in the marinade. Want to do some more cooking with beer, but not sure what cuts of meats to use, what beer to use, and what dish to make. Got any suggestion? Open to anything really.

3za i think that for cooking the best beer is the trappist one. Orval is my favorite one.

Gonna get a bottle of Orval to drink.

I'm not cooking with any of the trappist beers. I only got 1 bottle of each, and I have yet to drink a trappist in my life. Plus I want to use something I can get cheap to cook with, I'm going to hit up morrisons, and get some quid Manns Brown Ale's, and some £1.25 Hob Goblin's, and Marston's EPA's :D

Think I'm going to knock up some Guinness BBQ sauce, just with some stuff I have in the cupboard:
Guinness 1 can
Heniz Tomato soup 1 can
Garlic 1 clove
Brown sugar 4 tea spoons
Tobasco splash
Lea & Perrins worcester sauce splash
Tarragon 1 tea Spoon
English mustard small dollop
Salt few twist
Pepper few twist

Anyone change anything be for I go make it in the hour? Too much soup???

Off topic: Got some chicken marinating in soy sauce (and a fuck load of other things) for a stir fry tonight :D

definitely not as punchy or fruity, but it has such a clean balance to it, i got a second bottle a few days later and the epiphany continued.

Sauce tasted like concentrated skunk arse holes :corncry:

Delirium Tremens was fairly decent, but I prefer Duvel more. The Westmalle Dubble was yummy, and the Rochefort 10 was fucking amazing.

brooklyn lager - 5.2%

Very nice hoppy lager.

Compass Torp - 7%

As they say on the bottle, good beer to have with a steak.

Not had a Orval, or Houblon Chouffe yet, though did have a La Chouffe, and a Mc Chouffe.

Looks like that bro beer from Brewdog, but I wouldn't be the first one to complain about them

Had a really good ipa at 't IJ few days back, but liked their witbier best. Perfect amount of sour.
