Current England situation is a bit like if Canada didn't make it to the finals in any international Hockey competition no?

TBF that middle one was a pretty good shot. Straight in the bollocks.

He's really really bad but imo not as bad as Suarez or Sergio Ramos.
His behaviour does entertain notions of frontal lobe trauma though. Like a genuine psychopath - it's just not in every single occasion like with Ramos and not as disguised and horrible as some of the things Suarez has done previously, more straight up brawler idiot behaviour.

As I understand Morocco and Algeria have had a tense history and Fellaini is half Moroccan or smth.

Well that was close for Belgium. Their first half was absolute shite. Bit better during second half but not that impressive either. Mertens and Fellaini should have started the game. On the other hand pleasantly surprised by Algeria, I really didn't imagine them to be that good. Of course they're a bit limited on the front, but a compact and clever team, good defense. They would have given a hard time at any other big team I think.

A lot of class players like Benzema(Im not 100%), Zidane and Djorkaeff could have opted to play for Algeria. They have a sound football culture in north africa tbh.

Djorkaeff's dad is polish, his mum is armenian.
Benzema is of algerian origin.

I wasn't questioning the intrinsic quality of North African players, I just wasn't expecting Algeria to be that good at defense and well organised. But I hadn't seen them play for ages so... Plus with their coach it makes sense eventually - Halilhodzic coached both Lille and PSG a while ago and he's renowned for his strong discipline and defensive culture.
