The Brother From Another Planet - John Sayles' cult classic, I'd never seen this before despite the fact that I'm a big fan of Sayles. It's not his best but despite being 26 years old now and what was obviously a pretty tight budget it still works well. A number of the Sayles regulars turn up and deliver good performances.

Four Lions is guid, but not as guid as it should have been for Morris's debut.
I watched part 1 and 2 of this over past few nights...
Part 1 is absolutely excellent. I think it's close to a perfect film. It's jam packed full of action, and watching someone's rise is always better than watching their fall. Part 2 is a lot slower and mostly just Mesrine getting caught by the cops over and over while he's on the run until he meets his inevitable brutal end. Cassel's best performance, even better than La Haine. Feel's like he completely threw himself into becoming Mesrine and really believed in the film.

That sounds awesome! Vincent Cassel is so good.

Although they only made this film to try and trick me into a false sense of security.
They can't pull a double bluff on me!

Here's a bunch of stuff I've had to endure this week at work...
This wasn't without it's charms, but the original was better.
This was just weird. It's meant to be a lighthearted romcom, but is packed with the F-bomb and sex stuff. Unfortunately CZJ doesn't get naked, fully clothed sex, PAH! Shame, as she is aging very very well. Michael Douglas has gotta be the worlds luckiest pensioner.
Thought this was going to be awful, but it's not bad really. It's pratically shot-for-shot with the original, but transported to China. Also it's Kung-Fu, not Karate... stupid name, obv just a money-grab. Kung-Fu Kid would have worked just as well. It's bloody long tho, and nothing happens till Jackie Chan beats up a bunch of 10 year olds.
