Its one of them tunes I wouldn't usually like......... but I do
Good job

Cheers mate, glad you like it! I had been told that the melody sounded like 'Wanksta' when I put in the 'Work In Progress' thread, it was unintentional as I'd never heard it before!
Thanks again!

Don't even know what to say accept amazing track!
Structure is amazing, i'm loving the sounds, the warm sub and the entire way the song builds up. This is the kind of dubstep you want when its 5am and your out of your skull.. going to listen to your others now, amazing!
EDIT:
Just hit the drop oh my days that bass line is amazing. Can't rate this tune enough.. any 320s haha?
karmacazee wrote:Cheers knell! Glad you dig. You're a feedback legend! Was beginning to think nobody cared...
many more tunes in the pipeline for the next coupla weeks
haha like my sig says... the baron is aaaaaalways watching... whether you want him to or not
usually if i dont do a review on a general post its because others have already covered it and i'd just be re-hashing their feedback, and no one likes spam! i post almost too much so i do what i can to keep this thread tidy, its getting quite massive (i always joke about this one being a contest with the WIP thread, but with recent developments we're shredding that one... i usually dont touch WIPs because it would take me all day to give recommendations on tracks that are only halfway done )
looking forward to your future tracks, ill be here with the reviews, today proved nothing can keep me down hah
Good on you mate!
Thirsty Android is a cool tune man, btw.

jam1 wrote:Yo! This is my first 'finished' production so any feedback or advice will be greatly appreciated!
plus:
+gangsta sounding intro, i have some mates that would probably love to freestyle on this haha
+good build, progressive sound
+great attempt for your first track!
+heavy heavy sub bass, could get most woofers pouding
advice:
-you could bring the snare in with the bass drum and cut out the bass drum only section in the intro if you want to cut down on the drag
-hmm, with only a lead and sub-bass, this sounds more like a rap/hip hop beat than dubstep
-breaks can get a little dull with just hats and lead, with the drums building all over again
-work on a stronger build up into that heavy drop, could use a standard reversed crash cymbal or something original
-if you want to keep it closer to this sound, i would add vocals or at least a sample or two
overall:
=strong groove, good to see you on the board. very good for a first production effort! still seems like progressive hip hop over dubstep tho
much love

Alright just uploaded my new tune , please rate with some kind criticism
cool
plus:
+intro is pretty attention grabbing! most people who know the song (which is like everyone) would definitely get hype
+like how you used more than just a clip of the song, makes it a true remix
+bass is nice and metallicwub, super heavvvvy
+bass follows the melody of the song, which is pretty crucial
+vocal only break is super effective
+glad you used the unedited version... sounds like a given but you'd be surprised what people try to pull off these days
advice:
-bass drop could be a little more pronounced, meaning it needs a tad more build to prepare the crowd to jump
-maybe a lead synth in there somewhere, like the second verse? would add some spice to reduce the repetition of bass+vox only
-drop after vox only break could use a little build as well
-some soft speedup/slowdown automation of the LFO during the second verse could also add some variety
overall:
=super good idea, and the flow is well done, but it seems like this is the bones of the tune, needs a little meat and spice, something on top of the drums and bass, before it'll sound well rounded (in my opinion, anyway)...

TDSdubs - "No Joke"
plus:
+nu-jazz intro, pretty original, if i do say so myself!
+bringing in the sub-bass with the snare was a nice touch
+i know i should stop saying this bc its pretty irrelevant, but i like the way this track looks on the soundcloud bar
+very nice sounding synths, like how they get layered
+super strong melody line
+nice occasional variation in the bass drum beat, you put your time in apparently
+twitch bass (3:18) gives a nice double time feel for Xtra spice
advice:
-i know its rinsed but i was waiting for a dreamy sample, either something philosophical, a sexy voice in a foreign language, some smooth vocals...
-maybe a stronger break into the twitch bass? sounds great as it is but that part could really punch, kinda like the second time it comes in
-was waiting for a switch up in melody for variation, but i think vocals or sample would solve the repetition issue
overall:
=i thoroughly enjoyed this one!! great dreamy feel and strong flow, would kill at a breakpoint in the club with the above mentioned advice (for me, at least, and you're making your music just for me right? ....right? )
5 o'clock's the best time, u know it. Like the roots flavour of this one - timed comments on yr soundcloud. Only likkle thing is the snare might sound bigger with less phaser, but it's good n trippy as it is no doubt

TDSdubs - "Hold Her"
plus:
+ooh, you're good at the dream vibes man, totally diggin the laid back vibe of your tunes
+ there's that sample i was thinking about (in my above review of "No Joke")!!!!!!!! haha looks like we're on the same page after all
+well done, perfect blend of dark and light
+was highly concerned with the 8:24 track length at first, but the vocals make it totally fly by with variation
+that wub bass peeking in (2:45) is so clever!
+nice freq automation on the wub, gives a more unique vibe
advice:
-eh, 8+ min is still a little grueling for me, most parts could be cut in half and it'd still be the same song
-i know you probably dont want massive drops on such beautiful tracks, but one big drop could be really effective
-i think a glitch drum track toward the end would be a great way to end with a memorable bang, would trigger the "Burial effect", if you know what i'm saying (sorry its early haha)
overall:
=...you ARE writing your music for me!!!
much love

wondering if anyone else spun out to The Good Shepherd on British tv after newyears?? neway, i been playing with iMovie, but can't get this site to recognise blip.tv so here's a link if u wanna watch http://blip.tv/file/3054395 (youtube took it down cos of hollywood copyright - hatas )
thank ya thank ya, Thirsty was my weak attempt at working with Excisions sound.. well, as close as Reason4 can get

haha, weird, i personally think Thirsty was one of my weakest tunes, so i'm glad that you guys dig it, for sure!
and i forgot how good it feels to get some feedback in return, rather than dishing it out vigorously
anyway, as far as swapping combi's... let me hear some of your Reason4 tracks and send me a PM with the ones in my songs that you want (just listen to the songs you like then time-tag the parts where the combi you want comes in, like (0:00) style) and i can definitely arrange that!!
