Luke Fair - Turning EP [Insomniafm Records]

Luke Fair - Turning EP

One of the most down to earth artists you'll meet in the industry today, it's not cliché to say Luke Fair is "all about the music." Never one to be flashy or over the top, Luke has preferred to let his tunes define his career. By doing so he's quietly become a global hero to his devoted fans and upstart DJs and producers who yearn for the soul and energy the Luke Fair sound provides.

Tunning EP brings that quality yet further to the fore. A gentle, smoky sadness runs through the heart of these songs his yearning tones slipping gradually into view over a framework of muffled but insistent kicks and teasing hats.

The unobtrusively thrumming "Frangellico" remix teams slow-mo percussion with soft keys and wafting reels of cello. It's a gorgeous, sprawling minutes of music from a producer currently incapable of putting a foot wrong. Pretty, hypnotic counterpart, but "Matteo Monero" remix built on characteristically submerged percussion and bass, over which fragments of the original's exotic percussion dance in and out of view.

'ANOMALY' is excited to announce its twenty-third release: Siren / Brightest Light

ANM023-A: Lethal - Siren
Anomaly stalwart Lethal makes his return for 2014 with the breathtakingly beautiful and mesmerising dancefloor filler ‘Siren’ - a lush future jungle number which incorporates an amazingly emotive piano riff, hypnotic vocals, heavy kicks and snares, rolling breakbeats, a gorgeous breakdown, tearing hoovers, and a bouncey synth riff. Just like the mythological sirens of the deep, Lethal’s ‘Siren’ will lure and enchant anyone within earshot.

ANM023-B: Kranky & Lethal - Brightest Light
2014 also welcomes the return of junglistic duo Kranky & Lethal who are set to take audiences on a voyage back in time with their newest track ‘Brightest Light’. With an old skool ambient jungle feel, bringing together vintage funk breakbeats with warm and lavish atmospheric pads, a deep rolling bassline and rave stabs, ‘Brightest Light’ is a head nod by Kranky & Lethal to the classic era of 1990s rave/jungle.

Fabio T. - Fall Out EP [Insomniafm Records]

Fabio T. - Fall Out EP

It's often felt like Fabio's music has failed to live up to the story behind it. In fairness, not much could: here was a young producer born on techno's home turf considers this his passion, his greatest hobby, definitely not a profession.

"Subtractive"'s remix stodgy techno groove is beset by layers of throttled hiss and looped sounds sourced from arcade games. The result is menacing, but without recourse to techno's conventional shorthands for menace. "Brian Burger" remix is deeper, the latter is particularly fine, its layers of ghoulish dub textures rendering it bleak and strange. "Beat Cool Brothers" remix is a tape-muffled synth interlude, is a beatless respite for the most part it's just loping broken-beat kicks and a single pungent sheet of delay, until a red-raw clap snaps things into place at the four-minute mark.

Fall Out it's lean, rugged and ruthlessly efficient, when Fabio T. dropped the original mix the sort of tale of creativity in adversity that press officers dream of, we should have known he meant business.

yo, just trying to get this out there...please give it a listen and let us know what you think.

BOATS is a producers producer, not on any hype tip, but folks who make tunes who know him respect and recognize his shit is real deal. inventive drums, analog synths, played chords and just straight of creative as fuck.

Bestami Turna - Bachuss EP [Insomniafm Records]

Bestami Turna - Bachuss EP

"Bachuss EP" seems to slide diagonally through the stereo spectrum. "Bestami Turna" gives a grimey cluster of tinpot percussion and slithering, snarling bass, beats stutter and break apart.

"Dedicada" starts out in a primeval swamp, something rather more polished rapidly emerges. There is a winning internal logic to how, by the time you reach "Dark Breathing," the jazz, disco and funk influences of the earlier tracks have coalesced into something sleeker.

Sabatine - Conspiracy EP

Sabatine's music has always settled in that heady nexus of gritty noise, shoegaze and ephemeral techno! Conspiracy EP is keen on that lush, heat-dizzy take on electronic delirium, mde with assorted analogue gear, drum samples and chunky. Second track from the EP is called Manelogie and takes flight immediately, its floor-fit burst of drums corroded by a synth tone that seems to almost moan against this noisy din.

Last track have a funny name Triky Wicky and opens in glassy ambience before a searing blurt of sound, giving a way to drifting synth melodie.

Ego Progressive - Destructive Thoughts EP

Ego Progressus developed an outstanding music taste, as well as broad erudition, individuality and sophisticated sense of humor. His style is an accumulation of dark influences, with bouncy elements contrasted by progressive shades.

Destructive Thoughts, shuffling live drumming and an omnipresent bass line command the record amid dubbed out effects and some waked-out, devotional chanting. It's simple stuff but seriously charismatic all the same. "Fridays of October" is an altogether more curious proposition, the track has a sense of weightlessness that gives it an uneasy, queasy feeling.

Alex Miller - Leave Fright EP

Leave Fright by Alex Miller its pitch-bent stabs and flanged drums offering a slightly more nuanced take on jungle, but it's still uninspiring and the counter beats and emotive analog synths, itchy keys and low-end bass. "Sander Frame" remix is a loosely swung and wholly forgettable house cut lightly sprinkled with breakbeats.

"Novikoff Just Be Deep Mix" it's throbbing bassline not quite gelling with the triple-time drums, creating an effervescent and colorful blend of space-age bachelor pad music.
