does its have to be at 140? what about tunes like disko rekah, touch, etc? (devils advocate)
Yeah isn't disko rekah like 147 or something?
yeah think it's like 146, pretty fast whatever but tbh there's loads of em about. that new gorgon sound bit is about 145, oh my gosh by SP is around that, i've got loads at 142. all it takes by TMSV is like 150 and surely pepper spray by pinch is dubstep too? that's ridiculous like 170 or something. doesn't make it d&b now does it... just because a lot of dubstep is 140 shouldn't make it a defining feature
i felt like disputing that, but then i listened to the tune
i think its dubstep
not that its genre is super important
its a fucking tune, too
but to be fair, it wouldn't exactly go down in a mix with other dubstep. its an interesting thought
i don't mind tempo shifts in a mix, but you get what i mean, as in it wouldn't blend for a sustained mix
yeah it's quite a pain in the arse. great tune so i always try and stick it in there but generally fails. still quite the anomaly though i would say...

We incorporate dubstep tunes into our set.. and we love dubstep so much we're starting to write a lot of new dubstep tracks.
Check the video below. Skip to 3:33 and 13:00 to see the dubstep tracks we do in this set. Electronic kick and snare on a live kit.. and every bass and synth note sampled into an akai sampler and played through 2 keyboards. You'll realise how it's played live.
Thanks for checking us out.
We've got a heavy dubstep tune on the way, and some live footage to show how we play it live! I'll be posting this up soon.

Bit hard to go from a 170 to a 140 track without one/both sounding shit though.

Hey guys, the 2012 DMAs... USA! Has already happened...
I dont know what "post-dubstep" is, but they're just referring to everything made after 2006 from Rusko to Mount Kimbie to Britney Spears. This is the problem with stupid non-genres.

I'm at work with no headphones, and there's no way I'm going to let my co-workers catch me listening to a dubstep band...I mean, they wouldn't know it's just for the lolz, for all they know I could be listening because I actually like it. so basically this post is to bookmark in case thread gets locked.
