Or that love of Burial's music unites people who would otherwise argue with one another.
I think the amount of misinformation and intense speculation is quite funny, actually...

what does any of this have to do with marketing? they would've released single after single after rarities comp if that were the case, but unfortunately, for some, that isn't the case. same goes for keeping things tidy and under wraps as a marketing technique, utterly ridiculous. that's not to say that sales wouldn't sustain for longer duration due to the lack of new material, they obviously do.
some artists release an album every 2-5 yrs, be patient folks.

While this thread isn't a complete waste of time, there is no need to speculate a release date or what will be on it. When it comes out, you will know.

yes, and most likely it will be from *gasp* the label itself.

Surely anticipation is half of the fun, over consumerism seems to be taking the thrill of the wait out of music somewhat, I guess it was inevitable with the sucess of the internet as a medium to promote, discuss, preview, listen and buy music.

US Customs Official - Mr Burial, we have reason to believe you are in the possession of WMD's that you plan to unleash on the citizens of America
Burial - Of course I do, I've got bare bombs to drop, I'm on tour innit to promote the new mix album
Us Customs Official - Is that so, here is your one way ticket to Guantanamo bay, do not pass go and not collect your two hundred pounds.
