I really liked the intro, as soon as the drums kicked in I couldn't help but start moving around in my seat. I could see some nice female vocals going well with the intro/buildup.

@JTL - My favorite thing about your track is the vocals. I couldn't find a single place where they didn't fit in perfectly and hearing them with the womps sounded really good. I could see them fitting in with the outro aswell. And I would love to answer your question about the Sub but I'm in the same boat as you, need some real monitors!

@DJ Cappa - I really like the synths. I think the build up to the drop could be more intense, but the drop itself sounded really good.

FruitFlesh: Love the pads and notes, just try to work on getting the kick and snare to fit into the mix a bit more, it seems to punch out at me at the moment.

Night Light: I like the idea, just try to get the kick and snare punchier, and the mixdown a bit better, some of the bass parts are way too loud, and are swallowing up the drums. Otherwise, pretty solid, good job!

Boring: Love this one, liking the dark vibes! Nothing to fault with it really. Check out my 100BPM track below, I like experimenting with different tempos

JTL: Wow love this one, the vocals are great, and I like the vibe! The percussion is sweet too! Nice work!

Dj Cappa: Nice work on the basslines, but the drums sound very weak, try using better samples, and compress/EQ to make the stronger. The layout is good though.


Here is my new WIP, it is a 100 BPM track, and I'd really love some opinions on it! I did have a much darker intro, but decided to change it, let me know if you think a less uplifting intro would suit it better! Thank you! Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

@Noisestorm - Appreciate the feedback! Do you mean the womp bass or the sub (or both)? I'm currently using 10 year old stock speakers that came with my old computer (that was purchased 10 years ago) so the sub is pretty much non-existent for me so it's hard for me to tell.

I like your track a lot, especially the beat. I (obviously) haven't heard the darker intro, but I think the intro you have now fits the rest of the track and flows with it really well.

@ atticuh : this is nice, .34 is beautiful when the bass kicks in

1.20 onwards YES this is perfect
good work, enjoyed that seemed quite original

@noisestorm : I like the intro, sounds good to me. .39 in this is a nice buildip
.49 oh yeayahhh this drop is sick. Love these sample vocal things you have going on they add to it so well. 1.20 got a nice roll to it, could listen for a while
without getting bored. Break towards the end is perfect. This is going well look forward to hearing the finished product.

@Nightlight : .25 so far so good, i like the vocal blips, my sort of thing. .46 expecting a lot from this build up, hope it surprises me. 1.00 ooh sorry i'm not a fan of that synth. Sounds like a cheap preset. Gets a bit chaotic at 1.20ish. That sound gets a bit repetetive/annoying by about 1.50, id change the tone it seems too in your face and its not nice to listen to. 2.20 these bass sounds seem really clumsy. I prefer it at around 2.46 with just that one sound. Gets chaotic again at around 3.05. Some tidying up to do overall I'd say, maybe change some of the synths. Just my opinion though.

Left a couple of comments on peoples soundclouds too.

Here's mine, i feel like mine is awful compared to some of what i've just listened to but see what you think

Thanks! I think just the general mix between the two, try to eq/ level them so that they sound good together without clipping, or drowning out the mix!

Thought I'd give 100bpm Obama inspired death womps a go

The build up isn't quite there yet.. Trying to get a decent quality sound bite of Obama saying "Aww fuck this" but they are all pretty poor quality

Noistorm - Sick intro.. Don't change it! Drums are very punchy and well mixed... 16th synth stabs in the intro are really good and have JUST enough movement. Great beat. Love how the 16th stabs turn into a riser.. Then the second riser is amazing. Amazing basslines.. This is awesome work man.. Probably one of the best tunes I've heard in a while already!

atticuh - Love the playful melody at the beginning.. Quite complex too. I'm getting a big IDM vibe from this.. Very much like early Aphex.. The atmosphere dropping in at 32 seconds is just what it needs! Maybe bring the ambience up a little? Very good stuff!

stranger sounds - I really like the pattern in the intro but the hats need to be brought up! Vocal and crashes are great.. I like the block hit/rim hit thing, sounds great! Drop is really, really good.. Great drum beat, very chill.. Definitely needs more sub (if there is any).. I'm not picking it up on these RP6's

donpablo - Cool instrument, what is that? It falls away pretty quickly at 7 seconds.. Mixing issue? I like the wubs creeping in! They sound quite distant.. Is this an effect you've gone for? Drums are great! Love the crash sounds.. Loving the drums and ambience! You've done a great job of making the drop anti-climatic in a very good way.. Great piano melody! Awesome work man

@donpablo - Loving the little vocal snippets. Percussion is lovely and flowing too. Very clean sounding. Nice atmospheric drop, reminds me of some proto-jungle drops. I love this track. Pure love it.

@Ascian - Dude, heavy. Those reese hits are super grungy, what the heck you using?

@Killerkat - Is this a super low-res render? I kinda like the low-fi feel, but I dunno if it's deliberate

It is pretty frickin heavy, haha... Not one for the dance floor!

@Ascian: Yes man,the wobble that sounding far on the background was the idea,but i think it sounds ok.And that instrument is some kind of china strings vst that crashes every 20 mins lol ) cheers

edit: btw bass is sounding fat in your wip,it inspired me to work on 100bpm ha.cool stuff

I've done a lot of music production in various genres of edm but this is my first track in the dubstep genre. This is a rough and I need some feedback from you nice folks. What would you change on it? Any input from anyone is appreciated.
