Everybody else looked sheepishly at the floor for the rest of the ride.
fixed for truth
if only!
i would be very disappointed if i got my head kicked in by a hipster (unless it was the peckham terminator)

i hope the surgery goes well nev.
to mirren too.
i try not to remember the past too much so i dont have that many memories to dwell on as i hardly saw my grandma in the few years before she died. i wasnt there when she died either. my mum didn't want an open casket but i would have liked to just to bring it home as it still hasn't really sunk in because i barely saw her before anyway so it's like... has anything really changed? at the funeral i was kinda angry because i wanted proof, something final, and nothing in the ceremony was "proof"
made me regret not going home more often until my mum punched me in the face and reminded me why i avoid it so much. i am obviously meant to be supporting her as it's her mum she's lost but i DON'T RLY WANT TO. i know it's gonna be absolute hell when she dies if i'm this conflicted now but whatever, problem for another day, another year hopefully. i'm always trying to prepare myself for the worst especially when it comes to my family and i knew my grandma was dying, slowly may be but it was bound to happen, maybe the loss happened over years so much that the final end was not a momentous change but merely part of a long process that still goes on.
i am feeling pretty shit this evening too.

This won't exactly be consolation, more of a bad attempt at trying to say 'I know what you're going through', but my grandad and gran both died within a year of each other. My gran had dementia towards the end and didnt even recognise me when I went to see her in hospital. She directly asked me how Jamie (me) was and that she wanted to see me, and I was standing right there. I'm not saying there's ever an easy way to die, but that certainly isn't a death that's easily accepted.
Heart goes out to everyone experiencing anything like this, truly
Edit: to anyone interested, here's a video of my grandad meeting up with the gunner of his crew for the first time since the war. Filmed about a year or two before he died.
mine was already nuts and smoked like a chimney (no joke at least 5 packs a day) to say the least of the worries back then, only thing that saddens me is that she was getting more healthy/sane due to finally getting a good treatment (some shit with my grandfather who married a probably hooker and fled the taxes to Rwanda or so, one of the main reasons she died imho is him and not only my opinion) in her last months and I didn't want to see her all nuts (last time I saw her she threw bottles from the balcony etc) or broken hadn't seen her in 2 years prior to death and we we're pretty close considering she was my godmother and all. oh well cherish the memories my great gran had dementia, so bad she'd ask us things 7 times in short notice and she even knew she would forget it,
she didn't even recognize my dad (but did recognise me and my brother for a long time till about 18 years old)
Still lucky I have my moms side alive and kicking, would be devasted if they passed away, but really devestated especially my grandfather :s can't even think about it
anyway enough sad stuff for me for a while, time for happy thoughts etc

Thread has gone from 'The Things That Pissed You Off' to 'Posts That Crush The Readers Spirit'.
My thoughts are with you, Nev.
You're a solid guy and I wish you the best.
