agreed. as wicked as the more grime-centric synth driven side of the sound is, i feel that it's prominence in the media has sort of eclipsed the whole rolling, percussive side of things that started with beneath, links up with livity sound, hodge and alex coulton, and which visionist and wen also link in to

I totally agree oscar, but it doesn't bother me tbh: it means we all have more time under the radar to establish a strong body of work that once released, speaks for itself.
I said to Slackk when all those Boxed grime articles came out that they were buying us time tbh.
That said I do wish the press would stop calling the logos & wen albums "grime", they were hardly lord of the decks were they?

what should they call these instead?

well they're obviously grime influenced, but then they were also (inspired by other things like garage, dubstep, jungle, classical etc). i mean "swingin' LDN remix", it's 4x4 garage, right?
i dont mind if people dont have a name for what we're doing yet, that's just fine, but it's hardly grime in the purist sense, as much as i love grime.

Feel like we're getting dangerously close to a 5 page lack of posting tunes, and instead having another argument about how stupid the name 130 is.

i don't know much about bpm´s, can you post some 130 stuff apart from the levity associated crew ?

most old garage and a lot of techno works too, not to mention hessle crew whose sound overlap massively imo (at least the stuff they release anyway)
it's cool focussing on being fwd>>> an all that but there's so much amazing stuff already out there, definitely feel this scene could benefit from digging for stuff more
