i've never actually been on 4chan because i thought it would be virus ridden and full of child porn, but... i might check it out now just to see what is? i will, will report back in 5 mins

Edit: well, i went on and i recognised that layout from pics people here. Didn't know what to do so i went on "Sexy Beautiful Women" and saw some women. A skeletal naked lady and some fat one with what looked like period blood up her thigh. People posting their supposed girlfriends. Okay. So then i went on weapons. Weapon talk. Then i went on video games. Game talk with over-the-top swearing. Okay yeah. Then i went on robot9001. People talking about community college.

So that was my experience on 4chan. I don't really understand.

i think the layout/simplicity is the best part
it's all unnecessarily obscene but part of the whole thing is that maybe it's good for us to get less sensitive
i go there when i'm sick of the world and don't want to be sensitive
breivik jokes, James holmes jokes, 9/11, anorexia bulimia jokes, sexist, racist.. just totally mean spirited insensitive humor 24/7

it seemed to have a lot in common with dubstep at the moment, in that you have to trudge your way through mounds of shit to find anything decent.
never went back, but not out of personal choice/distaste or anything I just never really wanted to.

Surely "mean spirited" humor and saying "n*gger" and "f*ggot" is only funny when your offending people? I mean, i'm sure everyone knows by now that that is what the site is about... so it's unlikely anyone going in there expecting to be offended or to offend.

calling people ngger f*ggot just became rooted in tradition.
Some people mean what they say, are racist or just plain jerks etc. but most posters just continue throwing those insults at one another for the fact that it's become their dialect.

it's just funny. maybe the point is to desensitize yourself to obscenity and sick humor, and have a place where you can unload all that hateful shit as an anon, and just get all the "n*gger"s and "f*ggots" out of your system
i'm not saying it's healthy
i don't think spending much time there is healthy
but in some weird twisted way, it kind of is. in the same way not being coddled and spoiled all your life is good for you, that you become more well-rounded


my last post really was only concerning /b/ tho
work safe boards are great, and pretty much like any other image board but i do think the layout and stripped down simplicity is excellent.

if you go to /fit/ it's a bunch of sick fucks and it's hilarious, but they can also definitely help you get in shape
so thats probably my favorite board
i'm not into anime or weapons or games, and /mu/ didn't really seem to hold much value
