they're undecided at this point because they're clueless idiots, not because they're some sort of amazingly objective, righteous evaluators of the issues
although the format itself allows a better discussion than having the candidates like 20 feet apart on podiums

being independent just means not necessarily picking a candidate because of political affiliation, it doesnt mean you're unable to make a decision until election day. any informed independent would have made up their mind by now.
