teehehehehhehehehehe i now carry:
Ratkiller
Hunting Rifle w/ Scope
Sniper Rifle w/ Suppressor
Anti-Mat Rifle w/ Suppressor + Custom Action
Overkill? Yeah totally, but i had all this shit accumulated like combat armor and the like, i pretty much got the anti mat + mods + sniper mods (found the sniper) for FREE. As soon as i customise all the above completely, with a fully modded version of whatever the best hand gun is, i dont think i'll have any motivation to keep playing!
I can't actually hold the anti-mat rifle very still at the moment as my guns skill is only 80. Still, boom.

There is a special version of the Sniper Rifle you could seek out if so inclined...

Found out last night there is a special perk/achievement for killing 15 super mutants with That Gun, and another for killing Mr House with a golf club

If anyone is stealth inclined, i would HIGHLY recommend finding 'Chance's Knife'. almost guaranteed kill on lightly armoured personnel if hidden in sneak mode (for me anyway)

No idea there aren't that many mutants to find so had to wait before they respawn to get all 15.

Pretty sure they're just challenges that give you xp for doing the task. Just got 100 guns and can one shot almost anything with the medicine stick. Deathclaws ain't got shit on me now.

Some of the achievments give you perks, like the Lord Death one, every rank you go up (by killing things) you get a few extra % in damage.

They're not spawning after I completed the mission there. Found a small camp next to the devil's gullet which I'm having to harvest.

Didn't realise there is a bunch of different paths to complete the game

getting a bit overwhelmed and confused by it all at this point, spent most of the time doing side missions and that, decide to continue with the main quest now i've got all the main quests in my quest feed. Like, i liked in fallout 3 how everyone did the same thing but could do them differently in order to affect the ending , i'm not the kind of person to play a 70 hour game more than once so that suited me perfectly. Really annoyed by this.

You have 4 main strands - NCR, Legion, Mr House, Yes Man. I played through on NCR first time round completely bitchslapping the Legion on the way. Second playthrough now and I'm balancing before hitting the main missions towards the end, thinking I''m going to go with Yes Man once I've completed everything that I can...once you've picked your side, it closes off the other paths and you get hit squads after you depending on which faction you told to fuck off.

started playing this, it's ok, but man it's tame compared to S.T.A.L.A.K.E.R,
new vegas is close to old school fallout but man so tame when i compare it to 1, 2 or tactics
FO3 just shouldnt be called fallout imo

^i stopped playing the game for nearly a year and totally forgot the story. I've ended up restarting in hardcore mode on hardest difficultly playing as a cowboy (thanks wub) (
extra info here)). its quite hard to anticipate which story is going to more interesting yet more beneficial considering i've already completed siding with NCR

If you've with NCR, I'd recommend Benny/Yes Man as the next play through, but not completing the post Lucky-38 story missions until you've done everything in Fort McCarran and as much as possible in the Fort...once you've got to a certain point with Yes Man you'll trigger both the assassin hit squads from NCR and Legion.
Though it is jokes watching them both spawn at certain places and fighting each other

yeah i had gotten to a point in my previous save file where legion would come after and often a group of Ncr would be around at the same time. ncr at absolute bunk at fighting. ONE legionarrie wiped out about 5 ncr troops... bloody useless

I've decided to go independant/yes man but to side with all the smaller factions such as khans powder gangers etc and just wipe out ncr/ legion

I said i was miffed about this whole impossibility of doing all the quests, so i'm just going to do the DLCs now and then do the wildcard route (except the khans and powder gangers vilify me) as i'm lvl 20 now and unlocked all map points. I wish it was just a main singular story ffs, some people don't have 500 hours to spend on a video game.
Is there a recommended order in doing the DLCs? Which should i save for last (most challenging/fun)

Difficulty order i'd say Honest Hearts then Old World Blues, Dead Money then Lonesome Road but it really all depends on your stats

Ahh cool, i've been reading about it on other forums, they recommend doing Honest Hearts because it's not really related to the stories and is the easiest, then DM > OWB > LR because they apparently follow a plotline of some sort? Plus the levels recommendations go up that way. Really looking forward to doing the DLCs, self contained stories, yay.
I spent the past hour waiting and waiting till a vendor had CF parts for the Sniper + Anti-Mat so i managed to get my stuff down to >75 for Honest Hearts (turns out i had 28 doctor's bags and i never actually used them ever, so i dumped all of them) but now i'm thinking i probably wont need the Anti-Mat for it, so i could leave it behind and have room to pick stuff on the quest. Hmm. I don't really need this lol, it's probably more overkill:
10mm Submachine gun
9mm Pistol
Weathered 10mm Pistol
Ratkiller
Hunting Rifle
Sniper
Anti Materiel
I probably just need the hunting + sniper rifles + a pistol. What do you think?

Christine's sniper rifle is the best stealthy rifle i find. Get 'that gun' because its criticals are deadly, especially when sneaking.
