Yet again some excellent tracks from my dsf fam really impressed guys :w:

@Wirez - Love bilocation man got all hairs a tingling and shit on that breakdown we need to do a track together soon bro i'll be hitting you up no doubt ;)

@hankerins - Technicality aside this track is awesome man i can hear the talent coming through. From a production point of view when the vocal drops the atmosphere in the background needs compression to control the levels and also some of the low end cutting out cos the sub gets frequency masked.

@Kaza - Sick track here man I can immediately tell were this is going in the intro i like the build in energy at the beginning. The bass is very wide when it drops likely due to a phaser i'd try and narrow the stereo field a little (with something like bx control or the free voxengo mseg plug) because i get the impression that the bass will get weakened from lack of mono compatibility in a club. I was also thinking maybe a cheeky edit in the beat or bass now and again would give it a bit more umph. I would also avoid using an auto panner on the bass.

@Ninthy4 - Fuck me sideways is that some death metal vocal or something? Sounds sick as fuck whatever it is. Production is also real good, be proud man this would fuck a club up to the next level :5:

Just stuck an adaptation of adagio for strings up on the cloud/sig let me know what you guys think to it

@wirez - always a joy to hear your stuff and this is no exception. Very emotional track with lots of atmos. Production is tight as usual, keep em comin!

@sniperDUBB - Some interesting sounds goin on. Could do with some EQ work on your lead synths and a touch of reverb to add a bit of depth. Drums could do with bringing out in the mix a bit more. I like the panning on the sound at around 2.38. Not a bad track overall, just a needs a bit more work on the mix and general EQ.

@hankerins - (Heavy Air) Really like the intro. Youve got some good ideas going on here. Sounds abit messy with the heavy panning. Like the lead that comes in around 2.52, some nice melodys here.

would like a bit of feedback on this one, was going for lots of atmos and emotion. Really pleased with this one myself but though Id see what all you lovely people think :D:

Think I finished this today, thought I'd get some feedback on it. Might still tweak things here and there if people point out any mistakes.

Down tempo, dark garage vibes.

Soundcloud

@Sinisterbeats - Really nice atmosphere from the get go. Love the melodies in this, good sound design. Drums sit real nice. Aint got nothing to complain about here. Think it's the best I've heard from you actually, really nice stuff.

@Chewie - Bit of a cliched song to remix but I quite like what you've done with it. Everything sounds clean and well mixed. Have to say I prefer the intro to the post drop section. I think if you took the midrange growls out and just left the drums (which are superb) and the atmosphere/higher squelchy noise then it would actually sound nicer but I guess that wasn't the vibe you were going for. Overall I like it, not my kinda thing but I still enjoyed it and it' well produced.

@hankerins - poor guy! sometimes it goes that way, you put loads in and unfortunately don't get much in return :\ I listened to heavy air. The mixdown post-drop felt very cluttered which was unfortunately the thing that stood out the most to me about the track. Despite this it was quite well put together and I did quite enjoy it. Like your melodies, would definitely say your musical/compositional talent is ahead of your production skills which imo is the best way round to have it anyway!

@Whyrez - Left you some feedback on the cloud bro! Good stuff as always.

Will try and respond to those who give me feedback but sometimes I miss people because I forget to check the thread! If this happens to you then hit me a pm and I'll respond asap ;)

1 of which was in reply to a comment I'd given, another 1 was on a completely unrelated note to someone else track, and the other 2 were not exactly 'feedback' in honesty mate.

first appreciation

@chewie
@SinisterBeats
@paravrais
thanks for the helpful tips, i'll try and make those changes. my mixes seem to come out cluttered cuz i don't wanna EQ anything out of my sounds once they sound nice by themselves. i know how stupid this is, you don't have to tell me twice, but when i've got 12 different synths hitting on the drop its hard to make those tough choices.

oh and paravrais, when you said "poor guy! sometimes it goes that way, you put loads in and unfortunately don't get much in return :\" at first i thought you were referring to me putting so much effort into my song and it coming out like crap. my heart sank for a minute :corncry: but then i remembered i was whining before. sall good :m:

and now more feedback

@chewie

@wirez ill sounds on this one, as im sure you know. its obvious you put a lot of love into it, i'd really like to hear the full version. and the expanded mix is definitely the right call for a tune like this. also i really dig your description, i know its not part of the song but isnt it nice to give people context for your music? kinda makes you wish that people still bought physical albums with liner notes and such. it's great that this community looks down on stealing music imho. Unless the tunes unreleased, that shits up for grabs!

@paravrais deep tune, definitely nailed the dark garage vibe you were going for. panning the white noisey pad that comes in at 1:31/4:11 (and other places) to the right made it feel a little off balance to me, but im guessing this is something you're conscious of and did on purpose. the creaky found sounds are baller.

@SinisterBeats yet another deep tune, its so nice to see a run of non-brostep tunes on the feedback thread (not that theres anything wrong with brostep but… there kinda is). i love the swing pattern on this one and the choice to go for a high snappy snare instead of something with full on punch. the high hat work is great too, all the top end stuff is really nice.

i'll leave comments on soundcloud too. thanks peeps!

i think the polite thing to do is to review a few more songs and ask for feedback again, mentioning that you didnt get much the first time. at least thats what i did. i'm at a 11 to 4 review to feedback ratio right now, and i appreciate those 4 people.

@wirez - Re: bilocation : Big up homie! diggin the minimal, ambient vibes/atmospere... the song progression is nice and smooth! I'm pretty sure I already commented on multidivide at some point but really feelin that track.. quality man! :Q:

@paravrais Re: Jacab : definitely some dark vibes here... all I can picture is some rainy night driving in the UK or something *shrugs* Good stuff... reminds me a little bit of Burial... maybe just the garage beats.. who knows :wink:

@Shekul Re: cubicles : really like the last melody/pad/synth that comes in at 4:50 till the end.. real smooth production overall! :W:

@hankerins Re: heavy air : those pads in the beginning are nice! There seems to be a lot going on in the bass -q- I like the sound but I think there's too much going on maybe? *shrugs* I think the track has a lot of potential.. I would try to make it a little clearer/cleaner maybe... just a thought. :D:

Been feelin reggae dubs lately so here's mine - Antilles! Most of the percussion samples were recorded by me. Enjoy! #reggae #dubstep

Thanks man! Glad you like :D

For sure man, I have a label in progress which I've been working on the strategy for for around 2 years, probably slightly more, and one of this labels prime objectives is to restore the value of the tangible formats of music, especially in EDM. We'll be sure to include the likes of liner notes and printed artwork. It worries me that so much art is lost in the cloud as the turnover for new art is so quick and the network is so large that it moves so quickly, we feel that art shouldn't have a life span and should be appreciated timelessly. Having a tangible CD or vinyl that you can pull out again in 5, 10 or even 20 years time and still listen to is essential in order to maintain that life span.

I will return some feedback for you on Soundcloud :D:

Easy bro! Glad you're feeling Bilocation and Multidivide! If you haven't already, you can donate and get yourself a copy of the Fent Plates compilation that 'Multidivide' features on...

http://fentplates.blogspot.com/2010/12/ ... tists.html

There's 18 tracks on there and they're all really musical and deep tracks :)

Will return some feedback for you on your Soundcloud :D: I feel greedy as you're always dropping me a comment lol

Yeah, some people are dicks man. I find it INCREDIBLY frustrating too when I give loads of feedback and get fuck all in return and then see someone give none out who then gets loads for nothing. Reality of the situation is all you can do about it is make sure you never give feedback to the people that don't play by the rules and always give lots out yourself. If you get fuck all after giving out lots of feedback then repost your tune, mention that you got no feedback when you posted it before and give feedback again but only to like 2 people so your not going to loads of extra effort.
