hey there! the first time i listened to dubstep - was a mix by Bun-Zer0 - ez mate!!!
i listen to much music styles, but last years it's mostly drum and bass... now it's definitely dubstep!!!!! very interesting style - i love it!!! and i try to produce something that can be called a dubstep. maybe you will find some of my tunes soon... also i call myslef UnCUT [it's the name for the dubstep channel]

First dubstep I bought was Timeblind - Ghostification... Bought a bunch of the mu 12"s.... Listened to Skream and now I'm hooked. Still have a pretty shite knowledge of dubstep, but picking up a bit. Make ambient music really....

hi all, i've been listening to dubstep for almost a year, mostly by visiting fwd and dmz and of course barefiles.com, recently following the forum under the advice of my friend Optimum and thought its about time i posted! big up to the diversity of the dubstep community - its the first time I've been into 'new' music for YEARS.

done my first post today and caught this thread so here goes my intro... been listening to dubstep since dec last year after electriclazyland pointed me to youngsta & tasks' rinsefm set from 21st october 2005... ancient memories was my first tune and tasks immortal words 'studio number 07940955952' were imprinted on my brain from that point onwards! being into dub/jungle/drumnbass/techno this was the sound i'd been unknowingly waiting for

been lucky enough to get to a few dmz's (but not the 1st bday ) and the roaring dubpressure night down here in brighton. been buying/playing dubstep 12's since march and airing them with a few mates our weekly live stream. nothing special, just the tunes, some mcing and a lot of red stripe... check it out http://streamizm.hubmind.net will also try and start putting some tunes together once i get my shit together

Ddub up in here. New to the board and dubstep in general. Big up to the Smog Sessions kru for thowing some good parties here in L.A. I blame them for infecting me with this dubstep bug.

Word, that Ghostification record was also my first dubstep record.^^

Yes yes......newcomer here as well....both to the board and the music.....comin from spinning DNB for the past 6 years....diggin the vibe of the dubstep for sure though....still getting used to the whole 70/140 bpm count though....

First Dubstep experience was this past Halloween @ the NYC Boat Party.....went to see Panacea.....ended up checking out Joe Nice and Juju....after years of intensive beats day in and day out something about the Dubstep just kinda made sense at the moment....been trolling around the boards ever since here.....

Gotta say just browsing through the awards stickies has made making sense of the whole thing easier.....best tunes of the past year to check out....best producers.....best sites to d/l sets (besides all the mislabled grime sets that most places have)...best shops etc.....big up for that....

Ill be posting a mix up soon as my tunes get here....been messing with some production as well....so Ill throw that up in a bit....

Good day. I have recently started investigating dubstep and am reminded of the sense of excitement I used to feel back in the heyday of Mo' Waz and drum n' bass in the mid-90s.

I missed out on the whole 2-step thing because I was listening mainly to post-rock and glitchy electronic music at that time.

So far, I've encountered Burial, Kode 9 and Benga (how good is Benga's "World War 7"?!!!). Three heavyweights, but I've got a major thirst for more, I'll be spending about 100 quid on more in the next couple of weeks. I haven't felt that way about a particular form of music in years. I thought it was the onset of age that was dulling my passion for fresh sounds, clearly it was simply an absence of interesting material. I've always been a sucker for plunging sub-bass.

In the words of John Peel (RIP), I just want to hear something I haven't heard before. My move to Guildford from Norway has given me the opportunity to do just that after being exposed to far too much formulaic drivel for far too long. Warrior Dubz at Mass a few weeks back was my first dubstep/grime party. Will have to get my ass to FWD and DMZ pronto.

Got wind of the sound in the wake of the 2step wave back in 00/01. Locked On and Agent X's dubbier offerings perked my interest in particular. Then I came across a recording of Slaughter Mob on Rephlex's website about 2 years ago. Been exploring the darker, dubbier sounds ever since.

Saw Skream play a few times. Went to DMZ. Got lost in barefiles. Keep waking up with basslines in my head. What more can I say? l.o.v.i.n.g it.

Hello, I'm i-line in notts.

I first heard dubstep in a near empty room when youngsta and crazy d played at Blueprint on the forward tour. Tragic. Zero promotion this end (or maybe man's weren't ready?), but for me and my small crew it was def a life changer. Since then I went to a few of the dmz nights when it was still downstairs at mass. Now it's all about putting up posters in kebab shops for Heavyweight Rocksteady crew and gettin our nights banned from certain clubs for bass perversions...

I been dj-in and puttin on Brazilian music nights called City of Dog for a few years. Temporarily on hold... More noise restriction iration. Anyway, dubstep has required me to finally learn to mix records together. What a revelation!

I also into capoeira in abig way. It ends up being a bit like a religion, a bit like dubtep in a way. Does that mean I'm polytheistic now?

Anyway, no turning back now. Ambition is to be the first female dj to play at dmz. Watch out Mary Anne.
