That Kode 9 and Martyn party looks awesome, if it was in London I would reach...regardless of whose putting it on.
Fabric have been monopolising since they opened but when they put on a good night everyone goes!
It's my understanding that an LA crew helped promote, if only slightly. Also, you were in the know and went there... you went to see the talent at a free show. Not because it was free, but because it was Joker. Which I think defeats your point about how nobody would go there to see the talent if it wasn't directly marketed to heads. It barely was marketed to any heads, probably a post on here and nothing more. Again defeating your point. It's not worth arguing about it honestly. You have made your point, your girlfriend and 2 other people agree with you. All that matters is people have a good time. I lose nothing by seeing a free show and neither do you. If a free show is enough to buy your soul there are other issues you should be focusing on.
