Then it's a car without an engine.

True, I forgot that it is a noble argument to want to make sure that "dubstep remains dubstep" (i dont exactly know what that entails) because this is, after all, the dubstepforum(.com). However, the actual distinction between "evolution" and "bastardization" is relatively in the eye of the beholder. I define "good" music as music that goes on to influence the creation of other music (music that inspires other people to become musicians, djs, producers, etc.).

In that sense, I readily admit Skrillex is "good" because he's already had a major impact on the type of music that new electronic music producers want to create. Whether or not you like what they are making is an opinion, and the world will continue to churn according to the laws of supply and demand regardless of what any one individual thinks about it.

Besides, I don't really think its possible to intervene with "evolution" to make sure it heads in the direction you want it to. Evolution is defined as an adaptive response to change in environment, and cannot be decidedly programmed in a studio, or a laboratory, because we simply can't predict how the environment is going to change.

2 main things. I'll start by saying that IF i have actually ever said "thats not real dubstep" what im ACTUALLY saying is "thats not the kind of dubstep i like".

And i do think its funny how any of us who prefer the darker/more mellow/2005-2008ish style dubstep get criticized for not being open to more things, or like they say "evolved sounds", while on the other hand the people who prefer the noisier aggressive (midrange preset heavy) type sounds always complain about older dubstep being "boring"....sooo yeah....they dont have to like older dubstep but we're assholes cause we dont like the new stuff???? Something doesnt quite add up....

So if someone makes a simple beat to the sound of a toilet flushing and that inspires somebody its good music to you?

Yes, but it's a cat that is being abused and mistreated by it's owner.

Again, another poor analogy.
Well, then, it's still a fookin' cat regardless isn't it. :P
Which you've mistreated.

The argument isn't the actuality of the thing, it's what is done to the thing that may be interpreted as abuse.

you are brillant wub.
