Half an hour of deadly troubleshooting
An hour for me to actually get to the place where we were meeting only for me to fall about 3 metres and die.
Deadly and Wobbles went exploring while I made it back to the castle (another hour)
By the time I made it back again, we'd been playing for 4 hours and only managed to actually see each other once.
Me and deadly attempted to play for a bit longer but something went wrong when he installed the beta update, so he said screw it and I went to sleep.

Time well spent.
Come on though, before that me and you had a good 35 mins or so doing cool shit. Looks like i didn't miss much when i dipped though.

me and idontreallygiveashit (depricode) just had a really good night session!
deadly you were right - night is really good when you get used to it, we rinsed balota airfield and the military base next to it, then made our way to cherno hospital to get blood bags
we both had transfusions, but afterwards our blood started going down really slowly. is this normal? im guessing once you have 1 transfusion you have to keep taking them.

Thanks, that's a cool website! In the end someone gave me the idea of downloading the Arma II Free version, and trying that. It ran... tolerably. So I went ahead and downloaded it to see what the fuss was about. As it turned out it looked like there was server problems all day so I kinda gave up after a while.

I've been keen to play with these guys for a while, but the ping on uk servers for Aussies is always 300 minimum I've found.
Any of the brits frequent the US servers? I'm afraid of the dark, so I usually hit up Dallas or Virginia servers at night over here.

yeah, we dont actually play on uk servers at all because they're always full.
we pretty much all look for servers that aren't full and decent ping for everyone.

grillis, banana, alty - add us all on skype, (mine is Trainrek.Trichome) and we should all be good for a massive group session, its alot more fun.

oh and I was thinking, it would probably be handy if we all chipped in to hire a vps if anyone is down, we could run our own server.
im not sure if anyone would do it though, becausing helping to pay for a server that you get 150 ping on is a pretty hard decision.
I guess it depends on the price.

You sure? Mines a piece of shit and it handles it alright. A 4 year old dell inspiron with a graphics card i bought at the time for 30-40 quid off ebay. 2.7ghz I think dual core processor, and an nvidia geforce 8800gts graphics card. Im pretty sure you could pick up a better graphics card than that for like 20 quid off ebay these days! And any laptop/PC less than a few years old should handle it alright! Download the demo, and have a crack :D (trust, its so much fun. Ive not played a game in years but this has blown my mind)

I'm guessing that will run pretty choppy though?

So will people be playing tonight? I think I still need to get to grips with controls and general game mechanics before bothering to group with people.
